| Firewire port broken, yet it works | 21 Aug 2005 12:54 GMT | 1 |
If you look into a firewire port, you can see a wedge of plastic sticking up in the middle, which the connector grabs around as it's pushed in. On one of the two ports on my iMac, this wedge has broken off. As I look at it, it's all plastic; there are no metal traces on

| ipod shuffle hard reset? | 20 Aug 2005 16:35 GMT | 4 |
I've had an ipod shuffle 512 since February, and all of a sudden it's dead - won't charge or mount in OSX. I originally had some problems with charging b/c I use an emac, and the shuffle won't fit without an extention. I don't think this is the same problem.

| mactel anyone ? | 18 Aug 2005 02:39 GMT | 5 |
This would be great although I fear Apple will go to great lengths to keep it from happening, but hey the best OS (OS X) on 'industry standard' hardware ! - snip - Imagine if your next Mac cost you only $300, and ran faster than any G4 or G5 you've ever used.
