It has been a while since I used a Mac, so I'm
a bit rusty on this stuff.
I gave my parents an iMac about five years ago, and
they have used it for e-mail and digital photography

My Pismo display recently stopped working when I was reinstalling the
operating system.  I connected it to an external monitor at one point
and since then it ceases to show anything when I boot from the internal
hard drive or a CD.

I am looking for a mini DV camcorder, which is mac compatible and is
under $600, if possible. I will be using this mostly for home movies,
but also for some still photography. Any sugestions would be welcome.

connection speed "Up to 400 Mb/sec".  This unit has an onboard power
supply not a wall wart.  The sticker on the bottom of the unit shows--

I notice that my mac looks at the firewire bus and sees it as a
possible connection (fw0). Does anyone know of a firewire ethernet
connector that works? Can't find any...

OK, heres the problem. I have the imac g4. For some
reason, I must have downloaded a pretty bad virus, my
mac won't start up. All it shows is the blink "?/mac os9 icon." I
did the option restart, and the hard drive won't show
