extracting video/audio from iDVD burned discs19 Jun 2005 23:30 GMT2
How can I extract intact video/audio from DVDs burned with iDVD 4?
In my search for tools I have tried all sorts of things. I can
successfully get video out of commercial DVDs (which is not what I want
or need). From the iDVD discs I get the video but the audio.... where is
A couple questions about an upgraded 760019 Jun 2005 22:59 GMT4
I have a PowerPC 7600 that was upgraded witha G3 CPU card, and I have
a couple questions about getting it moving as well as possible:
1. With the upgrade card installed, is it still beneficial to have a
memory chip in the L2 cache slot on the mainboard?  There was not on

Diagnosing boot failure on B&W G319 Jun 2005 02:24 GMT3

Blue-Ray Drives?18 Jun 2005 13:16 GMT2
I see that MacMall sells Blue-Ray WORM disks, but I don't see any drives
for sale.  Do any of you know whether anybody sells Blue-Ray WORM
drives, preferably external firewire, that work with Retrospect on the
Mac?  Dantz's supported-devices page didn't seem to show any, so
transition to "multi-platform"18 Jun 2005 00:33 GMT16
I'm wondering why Apple announces this as a transition to Intel.
I believe that it would be much better to make a transition to a
processor-independent system rather than to get locked in again (more
or less) with a different vendor.
Mac vs PC Graphics Cards17 Jun 2005 16:05 GMT8
I'm in the market for a new graphics card for my old G4 466 (Digital
Audio) "Clockwork". I've looked around, and noticed that while most ATI
cards seem to come as special "Mac Edition" cards, there seem to be
nVidia cards that don't distinguish between Mac and PC cards.
Considering Offers (for sale): iMac G5 17" 1.8 GHz w/ 2 GB RAM & SuperDrive DVD-R17 Jun 2005 11:51 GMT4
I've found myself in a tight spot, and am considering selling my prized
iMac G5 for the cash I need. It's unfortunate, because it is the only
computer I have. But, I really need the money.
I am hoping that perhaps I might get enough out of it to purchase
External Firewire Hard Drive Won't Boot -- Why?16 Jun 2005 15:01 GMT19
I have an external firewire hard drive that acts normal in all regards except
that it will not boot. It can be read from and written to. I formatted it
(HFS journaled) and then attempted to install Tiger. All went well until the
restart was requested, and then things hung with ...

D-Link 614+ and G4 iBook problems15 Jun 2005 02:43 GMT1
I have a D-Link 614+ router that has worked great with older-generation
wireless cards such as the one in my Sony laptop and the G3 iBook.
However I have had problems try to connect to it with newer-gen stuff.
I was able to get a dual-CPU G5 connected, but only after a firmware

Help!  scsi zip drive not recognized14 Jun 2005 14:58 GMT1
I have a "vintage" Mac - a Motorola StarMax 4000 OS 7.5.  I have a
