I have a 1GHz eMac with a combo drive. I can get an internal dvd-r "superdrive" for $80.00. is it hard to replace the combo with the superdrive? has anyone done it? is there anything to look out for?

I bought a Firewire Memorex DVD+/- RW burner a couple of months ago. Used it to store data. But i recently just got iDVD and it says it is not compatible when i boot it up. I cant find much about this on Google.

I just bought a 17" iMac G5, and it emits a high-pitch buzzing sound that fluctuates in frequency and volume. It isn't very loud, but is quite irritating. Is this normal, or do I have a bad fan, power supply or ??? Thanks- Jim

Many claim that HDs last longer when horizontal rather than vertical. Is there any research to back that up? Also, would an odd angle, neither vertical nor horizontal be worse than vertical?
