Where to get a modem for new dual G5?30 Apr 2005 23:00 GMT6
The new PowerMac G5 dual 2, 2.3, and 2.7 GHz models do not come with modems. I
know they are a $29 add-on when you buy the computer from Apple on-line, but I
expect to buy one elsewhere. The on-line Apple Store does not offer the modem by
itself. I live in a rural area and cannot ...

Dell monitor with G5 Powermac?29 Apr 2005 18:21 GMT3
I'm shopping for a new monitor to hook up to my 1.6GHz G5 PowerMac, and am
looking probably for a 19" LCD. The Dell 1905FP seems like a good monitor
at a good price, but the Dell Web site claims it's PC-only. I phoned Dell
customer support and they told me the same thing. However ...

I'm purchasing a Mac Mini tomorrow (whee!), which is replacing my
reliable old iMac G3 DV SE.  Could someone who bought and is
successfully using 1 GB memory in their Mini tell me where they bought
it?  Thanks!
iPod Dead or Merely Sleeping?28 Apr 2005 16:31 GMT1
I've got a second generation 10 Gb iPod. During the use of one of the
latest software updates, I glanced over at the screen, which said it
wanted or was able to be unplugged. I reached over and did so just as
the screen changed to 'don't unplug this iPod on pain of death' or

DV video camera and iPod28 Apr 2005 03:44 GMT1
Has anyone tried or heard of person/persons trying to hook up a 3G iPod
to a digital camcorder. My little experiment is to try and hook up my 15
Gb iPod to a Panasonic DV and see if I can send the DV directly to the
iPod rather than the cassette.

adding RAM to flat panel iMac?27 Apr 2005 21:42 GMT4
Hi folks--
I have an original flat panel iMac--that has one 512MB RAM chip already
installed at the factory--and the other slot is empty.  I now have another
512MB RAM chip to install in the "user-accessible" slot.  I went online to
