Mac compatable webcam for home surveillance?04 Mar 2005 10:52 GMT33
I'm having some firewood pilfered/stolen from my two woodpiles, and I'd like
to catch the folks who are doing it in the act.  It's happening in the
evening while I'm at a night class--for example, I noticed my front firewood
pile, near my garage door, about 18 inches lower than it ...

Logitech MX500 Mouse:  Driver?03 Mar 2005 02:57 GMT7
I just noticed this on Apple's website (note that the URL is huge, so
will undoubtedly wrap, thereby making unclickable):

I have a g4 1.25ghz dual-processor running 10.3.8 without problems.
Has anyone tried one of the generic (that is to say, not "Mac-specific") USB
PCI and/or Firewire cards, that also come with a "front panel hub" that mounts
in one of the 5.25" drive bays?
older iMac question02 Mar 2005 15:50 GMT5
Hello all.  Someone gave me an older raspberry iMac 333 with
no instructions.  I can't figure out two things.  On the Mac serial
keyboard you can restart by pressing Control/Command/Start.  That doesn't
seem to work on this little iMac usb keyboard.  Is there another command?
USB 2.0 cables02 Mar 2005 04:21 GMT1
So is there any difference between 1.1 and 2.0 cables?   Looking for
some extension cables on line, and it's touch.  Some don't say anything.
Some 2.0's look cheap enough they're probably 1.1's in a new package.
So is there any real difference in a 2.0 cable?

Airport Express Question01 Mar 2005 16:55 GMT2
I'm confused by various things I've read about the Airport Express.  On
Apple's web site, for example, they say "Everyone in your family can
surf the web wire-free because AirPort Express provides simultaneous
wireless Internet access via your DSL or cable modem for up to 10
Recovering a crashed hard disk01 Mar 2005 01:04 GMT4
This is probably a really stupidly simple question, but ...
My Mac at work (an old iMac, with no FireWire or SCSI ports, so i can't
boot it as a target disk, if that matters) has crashed - it claims it
can't find the operating system and refuses to boot. I can boot from a CD,
