"Device Busy" error in Disk Utility?09 Feb 2005 16:54 GMT2
Using Disk Utility, I attempted to create an image from my boot drive
(Images>New>From Macintosh HD). It starts to create the image on the external
(backup) drive, but then halts with the error "Device Busy". Both drives are
idle (no other apps utilizing them).
Newer Technology G3 PDS Upgrade Help09 Feb 2005 16:40 GMT1
I have the Maxpowr G3 pds upgrade processor for my wife's Mac 8100 and
no software came with it. She doesn't have internet capability and
that leaves me to download to my PC. I could only find the installer
which I downloaded. I used some shareware to Mac format a floppy and

I want to record TV video from my Sky+ box onto my (wifes :-) iBook.
(fair use: personal use, to put TV onto pocket PC for train-bound
viewing pleasure)
The iBook came with iMovie 4. My Sony DCR-PC101 camcorder has analogue

iMac G5 memory upgrade09 Feb 2005 00:05 GMT2
I want to upgrade my iMac G5 to 1 gig of memory, but I really would
rather not pay Apple's outrageous price for RAM.  So, does anyone know
if two of these would work okay in the 20 inch G5 iMac:

Question: iPod mini and USB08 Feb 2005 14:27 GMT2
does iPod mini work with USB versions less than 2.0, too? My father
wants to use it with an "older" computer having WindowsXP installed.
Thanks for your answer in advance. Sorry this is not a "Mac" - Topic in
fact, but i didnt find a better place to post this.
Firewire to Display08 Feb 2005 05:18 GMT3
This should be simple, but I can't seem to find any programs that will
simply display the video input from my Dazzle converter.  iMovie does
this in an extremely limited fashion that I'm not particularly fond of.
I'm looking for something to only display a 640x480, 800x600, or

Streaming to Home Stereo from PC via AirPort Express Base Station07 Feb 2005 15:13 GMT5
I have bought a AirPort express Base Station and have hooked it up to
my Stereo (Phono, as I do not have a AUX port). I can see, and connect
to, the Base Station from my PC (which also has a LinkSys Wireless Card
installed in it).
Best wireless keyboard & mouse for PowerMac G5?06 Feb 2005 22:27 GMT11
I'm looking for recommendation for a good wireless keyboard,
and mouse, for my new PowerMac G5.  Apple's wireless mouse
is out, due to it's dated, single-button limitations.  I've
looked at Kensington's offerings, but it seems to be lacking
eMac with no optical drive - can one be added?06 Feb 2005 07:56 GMT3
I'm looking to buy one extra Mac for a new hire in my office, but we
have zero bucks. We are a university, so we can buy the Education-only
eMac with no optical drive (256 MB RAM, 1 GHz processor, 40 GB hard
drive). This costs only $599, which we consider is barely within our

I just ordered and received a 19" CRT Dell M993c and thought I could hook it

PB but the monitor says to "Check Signal Cable" and the PB does not
recognize the monitor. I tried hooking up a Dell laptop to the ...
