How to disassemble a G5 Dual (2004) ?12 Feb 2005 14:50 GMT3
Hi,
I'm trying to replace the two cheap and noisy power unit fans in my G5 Dual 2
GHz (June 2004). I know I have to remove at least the lower processor, to get
to the power unit, but I don't know how to disassemble the G5 Dual. No screws
Mini & Griffin Powerwave12 Feb 2005 04:44 GMT2
I'd like to plug a pair of bookshelf speakers into a Mini.  The
Griffin Powerwave USB amplifier with Apple Pro port and included
ProSpeaker Breakout cable could enable me to do that.

Why is DVD Player such a wuss?11 Feb 2005 14:05 GMT11
Any DVD disc with an imperfection causes DVD Player to pause, retry, and,
frequently, quit with the "Unexpected" error.
My cheap Panasonic DVD player may mute while it "artifacts" the display
during rough spots in the disc, but it rarely gives up.
Monitor Recommendations11 Feb 2005 01:41 GMT3
System: MDD 1.25DP with Radeon 9000 Pro (stock). Current monitor is a
17" Sony 200ES (CRT). Time to move up to a 17" LCD. What do ya'll
recommend for around $400 or so and what basic specs should I look for?
This is just for home use. Thanks.

Deleting duplicate jpg files?10 Feb 2005 13:00 GMT28
Over time, many of my jpg image files have duplicated, some 2 or 3 times. The
names of these files have "-1" or "-2" added to the original file name.
The utilities I've found for eliminating duplicates, only see those with
identical names.

I removed the DVD/Zip completely from the machine and everything is
fine, boots up great, etc. I put the DVD/Zip back into the box
Powerbook spontaneous shutdown not due to PMU -- aging battery??09 Feb 2005 19:34 GMT1
Is this a plausible symptom of an aging / dying / messed-up battery,
or should I be looking for other solutions?
Computer:  12" G4 PowerBook (original version), 21 months old,
running 10.3.7 (problem started with 10.3.6).
Audio out on 12" PB?09 Feb 2005 19:31 GMT2
Hi all. Hoping an audiophile can perhaps clue me in. Been running Linux
at home on an IBM desktop for the last 8 years or so, and I have an
audio cable from my sound card's "line out" jack to a mini stereo's R/L
inputs. Works great for playing MP3s. Planning on replacing my desktop
Seeing what the "sense lines" say about a monitor - How?09 Feb 2005 19:14 GMT13
Heya folks...
Don't mind me as I ramble - I'll get there eventually, and you might
even find it a fun ride. :)
I've got the pinouts I need, all the materials, (as salvage, no less!)
