Do not buy the ipod for windows - it sucks06 Jan 2005 23:51 GMT18
I purchased the Ipod to use with Windows XP.  I have a laptop with the
4pin firewire.  The ipod loses power in 1 hour when you are synching
with itunes.  The 4 pin firewire does not supply power - which apple
fails to add in their advertisment.
Re: How to unhose a Windows iPod that is completely hosed 06 Jan 2005 23:51 GMT2
Same problem.  I only had to do up to #23 (couldn't format) and #29 through
#33.However, I canceled out of the musicmatch and audible part. The 2.0.1
updater ran fine, then I downloaded the 2.1 updater and ran it
successfully. While I was on a roll, I installed and ran iTunes for ...
My iPod experience06 Jan 2005 23:50 GMT16
I got an iPod for Christmas and my experiences with Apple and the iPod
have not been good.  I thought I'd write a review for the archives so
others know what to expect if they also buy an iPod.

Online reviews? Recommendations for portable hard drive?06 Jan 2005 18:22 GMT1
Where is everyone going for their information on drives?
I've trawled through a load of sites but they all get one or two reviews
which is pretty meaningless. One guy raves about a drive, the next hates
it...

Cinema Display - No Video05 Jan 2005 18:36 GMT1
Last night I was working away quite merrily on my G5 and 20" cinema
display, when the video went dead. At first I thought the machine was
in sleep mode, but soon realised that everything was up, but no video.
I rebooted the machine and still no video.
DVD using external drive?05 Jan 2005 00:26 GMT3
I believe that an iMac/iDVD can't recognise an external DVD writer, but
with PatchBurn it can.
I want to use a DVD writer with my G4 iMac and also with a G4 iBook, and
this, apart from my terror of attempting a replacement of the iMac's

iMovie --> Linux DVD-burner success!04 Jan 2005 20:57 GMT2
Christmas day I finally suceeded in burning my first home DVD.  The only
"extra" software I had to buy (beyond OS X) was Toast Titanium.  Here's how
I did it.
First I did the iMovie stuff, editing, transitions, adding iDVD chapter

Noise on G4 1.25 MDD SP 2003?03 Jan 2005 23:21 GMT1
I have a good opportunity to buy a Powermac G4 1.25 Ghz (single
processor) Mirrored Disk Drive (MDD) 2003, i.e. the model that shortly

I know that previous G4 models have been plagued with noisy fans
