I have a Mac G4 Cube connected via USB to a MOTU XT Express. I
experience an whine (ca 1 kHz) in the audio signals. This whine is
dependent on the brightness of the (cinema) display! When brighness is
set to full the whine is gone. It really is the display, as soon as the
EyeTV 410 export to DVD Studio Problem.24 Jan 2005 23:03 GMT1
I just bought an eyeTV 410 and have a problem exporting to DVDStudioPro.
Some channels export at 720x576 and DVDSP imports these no problem, but most
channels are either 704x576 or strangely 544x576 and DVDSP just does not
want to know. I am sure the "Export for DVDSP" function ...

The card should should have 4 or 5 ports, cost $10 - $20 and hopefully

I've got a DP 2Ghz machine with the GeForce FX5200 card in it. I'm

new CPU came with a DVI to VGA adaptor and I bought a Dr. Bott's ADC to
VGA adaptor to run a second monitor. I want my best possible image on
Cheap scanner recommendations?22 Jan 2005 21:03 GMT3
Can anyone recommend a cheap (less than $100) USB scanner for use with
Panther? Its principal use will be to copy drawings (mostly black and
white line drawings, but some color work, and some photos as well) to
the Mac for modification in an graphics program.

USB cameramate on new G5?22 Jan 2005 04:19 GMT4
I have just gotten a new G5 and my cameramate USB 1 is not seen or loaded by
the computer [driver is installed]. The drive is visible in the System
profiler. Any ideas why it is not seen? On my G4, it would be seen as a disk
and call up iPhoto automatically.

When I hook up a keyboard and mouse to my iBook 700 MHz, and run it
through a 20-inch monitor, the system seems to be running like it has
butter on the CPU. Does anyone know why this occurs? The system seems
to run fast enough in Word and Safari just as a laptop without the
Where to look for longer mini VGA to VGA cable for iBook G4?21 Jan 2005 15:06 GMT2
Subject line says it all:  I have the standard Apple mini-VGA to VGA
cable, about 6 inches total length, for my iBook G4 and it works fine
with a Sun LCD display.  For cabling reasons I'd like the same cable in
a 1 foot or 3 foot or even 6 foot length.  I've done some web ...
