Santa brought me a 20GB iPod for Christmas - whoohoo!
Followed the instructions to the tee.  First fully charged it, then
installed software, and then plugged iPod in via Firewire 400.
iMac 1Ghz 768MB RAM, 10.2.8, iTunes 4.7.  iTunes has 626 songs totaling

I have a mini. I don't use disk mode and my syncing is set up to auto. When
my mac is asleep, I see the charging icon on the mini screen. But whenever I
wake up my sleeping mac, the mini immediately changes to the Do not
disconnect flashing icon. Is this normal?

I picked up a Sierra Wirless Aircard 555 to use as a wireless internet
connection.  This PCMCIA card is a multi-function card acting as a NIC
and a modem.
It's not supported for the Mac by the vendor, but I've found an OS X

I have a USB 1.0 drive and when I hook it up it does not mount.  When I was
running OS 9 I found a driver on the web that worked, but I can't boot in OS 9
on this computer.  Does anyone know where I can find a driver for OSX?

The lcd screen on my ibook 500 goes black every now and then. Reagarranging
the postition of the screen fixes the problem for a while. I figure it's a
loose contact. Has anybody tried to fix a problem like this?

Would you recommend upgrading the standard iBook hard drive to a
5400RPM or 7200RPM model? I would like to increase the disk
performance with this upgrade but I would consider it only if it

Our little girl hit 8 months and SWMBO wants to do video conferencing
with the grandparents and godparents.  An iSight seem pretty pricey,
does it really offer that much of an improvement?  Any feedback on the
"hacks" that allow iChatAV to work with an USB camera?

I'm having compatibility problems using my G3/OS 9 machine and want to get
an OS X computer.  The eMac looks like a good choice for the price.  Anybody
have other ideas?

Macmall has a great special - lots of freebies - but they're crooks
according to my friend. Resellerratings.com confirms that. So where's a good
place to buy an eMac? Amazon.com has no shipping & no tax in NYC. Any other
recommendations? Thanks.

I just got a used Power Mac G5 with two hard drives installed. When it
arrived, the top (main) drive worked, but the lower drive did not show up.
The seller says they both worked when he shipped it out, so either a cable
