| Switching to a Mac | 03 Sep 2004 02:25 GMT | 7 |
I'm thinking of switching to a Mac, specifically a Power Mac G5. I'm a grade 10 student, probably grade 11 by the time I can afford one. Would it last long enough for me to use once I go to university? How would it compare to my Athlon 2400+ system?

This is a bit of a long-shot post, but here goes... I recently purchased a new Cinema display and found that the power button can not be used to turn the computer on (in contrast to Apple monitors and keyboards dating back to 1986 or so).

| What to look out for when buying old imac? | 01 Sep 2004 05:09 GMT | 4 |
the kids need their own machine, and at $200, the green gumdrop imac looks pretty good, even with paltry ram , G3 processor, and 20-gig HD. All the kids wanna do on it is play games and do word procesing, so OS 9 would be fine with them. but, are there any things to watch out for ...
