iMac OS 9 - Hard disk fails to spin up after spinning down. This requires a reboot to fix ..potentially losing files and work in progress In addition there is an alarming rattle on spin down.

My USB zip drive will recognize and mount other zip disks, but with one, when I stick the disk in, it makes noise as if it's mounting (NOT the clicking, just normal functioning) but the system "hangs" and will not
