| G5 imac - video input | 12 Sep 2004 22:10 GMT | 2 |
I am interested in the new iMac as my principle desktop computer. One advantage of my existing seperate monitor system is the ability to plug a second computer into my monitor. That way I can easily switch between my iBook and my Linux box. I have not found any reference to

| Bluetooth differences? | 12 Sep 2004 20:40 GMT | 6 |
I may be close to getting my 2.5 G5 Dual. Store won't order one for me with Bluetooth installed, but they will be happy to sell me a little gizmo that plugs into a usb port. When I asked if it works the same or as good, the sales person said

| Are there ANY firewire drives that sleep and wake on a 10.3.5 dual USB iBook? | 12 Sep 2004 01:29 GMT | 1 |
I foolishly bought a 200 GB Maxtor thinking I'd find a decent enclosure and have an external drive. Mistake. My first enclosure was a CompUSA drive destroyer. I figured out in a

| Someway to *not* wake up OS X? | 12 Sep 2004 01:18 GMT | 11 |
e-Mac, when sleeping wakes up when keyboard is bumped. Is there any way to not wake up the e-Mac is the keyboard is bumped. Maybe limit wake-up to only when the mouse button is clicked? Or is any such USB activity automatically a wake-up call for OS X?

| G5-2.5ghz dually... another drive to the big city... | 11 Sep 2004 19:46 GMT | 12 |
Hey, Apple, yesterday I made the long drive to come home (NOT) with an iMac. Today I made a return trip with $7000 in my pocket to get your top of the line G5 with the 23" Cinema HD Display. Same results. Nobody (2 stores) has any and the earliest I could determine any would

| looking for flatbed scanner recommendations | 11 Sep 2004 16:03 GMT | 4 |
It's time to get a new scanner. I have an old HP SCSI scanner that I've been using on a G3 running OS 8.6. My main machine for several years has been a G4 with OS X. The only thing that hasn't made the transition is the scanner, and given the age of the scanner and the grinding ...

| Do new imacs have a CD/DVD drive or not? | 11 Sep 2004 07:44 GMT | 8 |
After looking at all the pictures of the new imacs I went over to Compusa and took a closer look for myself but I was surprised that two units there did NOT have any CD drive on the side of the unit as it appears to be in the pictures on Apple's web site! They had all the

| Drive was making clicking noise, now frozen | 11 Sep 2004 03:58 GMT | 5 |
I have 2 Maxtor 80GB drives in a PowerMac G4/733. A few days ago the drive (I'm not sure which one) began making a repetitive "clicking" noise when I was downloading files on the Internet. It would only last 10-30 seconds and during that time I would get the color wheel and the

| Mac USB webcam recommendations? | 10 Sep 2004 20:29 GMT | 4 |
Need OS X 10.3 compatibility. Prefer something that will mount on the screen of a 12" iBook. Don't want to spend the $$$ for iSight. The available OS X drivers won't work for any I can buy off the shelf at Wal-mart. I've checked. Some that are up on eBay claim Mac

| Apple MS 20 Display M1823 gone green (snif, snif) | 10 Sep 2004 19:52 GMT | 1 |
My trusty MS20 has gone intermitantly green. The green is like a overall very strong wash, pretty much unusable since it's so intense. When it's working OK it's such an excellent display, sharp as a tack. I'd hate to toss the old girl if there's something I can do to keep her
