Just a note to say that I finally did manage to get the mac pro to work. I found a really old CRT I had back in the DOS days and it worked enough. Interesting that the VoiceOver app requires a monitor to function properly. I had to reinstall the system though as when I

As my Mac Mini's combo drive has taken upon itself to occasionally scratch discs I thought I might get an external DVD writer with an old-fashioned drawer rather than a slot-in mechanism. I'll use it primarily for importing CD's into iTunes but there doesn't

Every time I start a new shell using Terminal, a new ssh_agent process is started. (Its PID is not stored in the environment variable SSH_AGENT_PID.) The problem is that this ssh_agent process lives on after the shell process completes.

Is on offer at mupromo.com today and looks interesting - essentially looks like a server wrapper to CalDAV plus Google synchronisation, in a nice preference pane-based interface (not sure if CalDAV is actually what it -is-, but that's what it looks like).
