OT(ish): Palm bits?21 Jul 2008 12:05 GMT3
I found a Palm m105 in a charity shop in perfect nick with it's leather case
- only £1. OK, the batteries had leaked something awful (hence it's
non-working status), but as a 'pot-luck' purchase it's cleaned up just fine &
works great (I'd forgotten just what fun these were!).

Strange USB problem20 Jul 2008 10:37 GMT4
I have several 'gadgets' that charge or can be powered from USB.
They all work from any USB ports on my computers, from two (UK)
mains/USB adaptors and from several car lighter USB adaptors.
However, my iphone will not charge from any of the Mains/USB adaptors (I
Anyone need any MacBook memory?20 Jul 2008 10:09 GMT2
I've 2 x 512MB  SODIMMs here from a  2.2GHz MacBook (Black). Too cheap on
Crucial to bother trying to sell them. Not sure what they could be used in as
most MacBooks will come with 2 x 512Mb as standard. If anyone has a MacBook
with an empty memory slot (or 2 x 256MB fitted) they ...

Timeline software - graphical display of historical data19 Jul 2008 18:29 GMT9
I'm not convinced the subject line is that helpful!
What I need is some way of turning dated events into a graphical
timeline sort of display. I've begun to look for timeline software, but
I'm also not at all sure what I need - let me explain!
Running XEphem (might be unixy stuff in general)19 Jul 2008 17:21 GMT10
When I double-click the xephem executable (having built from source) it
first of all opens a Terminal window.
Is there any way of stopping this from happening? It's no biggie but it
just looks messy. Pretty sure it didn't do it under 10.4 or below.
iPhone / iPod Touch - shuffle by album19 Jul 2008 14:20 GMT10
Just been playing with an iPhone. I couldn't see how to shuffle by album
(rather than by track). Am I missing something obvious?

Mail and configuring email accounts19 Jul 2008 14:07 GMT41
As a new Mail user, it's very faffy with accounts.  I'm getting endless
prompts for passwords, to specify servers, and flat refusal to let me
send in a couple of them. [Google docs, now there's an effing nightmare
for email].

MSWord not spell checking19 Jul 2008 01:15 GMT5
MSWord 2004 v11.5 is working fine in every other respect...
But we cannot get it to spell check.  When you go to Tools/Spelling and
Grammer, it tells us that it has completed the spell check. But it
doesn't.
Intellipoint Drivers / 10.518 Jul 2008 22:03 GMT4
Does anyone know if the Intellipoint drivers work under Leopard?
Also: does the driver offer anything beyond customizing buttons?
Thank you.
