OK, it's new, so what. How long have Apple had to test their systems?
Did anyone beta test this?

Automator oddity.11 Jul 2008 11:12 GMT-
I have a workflow which I'd like to run automatically from iCal. The
problem is, it does what it should, but complains that it couldn't...
which is odd.
I use iBackup to backup this machine, it can be set with a time so that
iPhone background music question11 Jul 2008 10:38 GMT3
If you start playing music on your iPhone, does it continue to play in
the background of all applications? Can the applications (aside from
Phone) interrupt or stop playback? If an app plays sound effects whilst
music is playing, does the effect play over the music or is one or the
iphone v2.0 firmware, remote control, itunes 711 Jul 2008 09:47 GMT-
Had a brief play with a mates iPhone that he'd updated to the v2.0
firmware.  Really quite impressed - and the integration with the app
store is very nice indeed.
You can browse it from the phone and install OTA, or you can do it via

And  -  According to Apple, the iPhone's G.P.S. antenna is much too
small to emulate the turn-by-turn navigation of a G.P.S. unit for a
Best ADSL router?10 Jul 2008 22:18 GMT20
What's the consensus on the best ADSL router? My father needs one now he's
been converted from the dark side. He doesn't need wireless, though my guess
is it's silly not to.
The main thing, I guess, is that it should be easy to configure, since that's
Very OT: things that fly by10 Jul 2008 20:18 GMT83
No, not pigs, so no Mac Tablet yet, but I heard this odd lazy noise of
large, low performance radial engines, looked out of the window and a
B-17 flew by, nice and low, heading for landing at Heathrow.
Not too many of them to the pound. What on earth is a Flying Fortress

Problem MacBook10 Jul 2008 16:09 GMT6
Dear All
A 2 year old 1.83 GHz Intel MacBook came in (it's not true, I went and got
it) from a client. Won't complete start-up - just gets stuck at the rotating
dominoes.
DNS change - iMac still finds old site10 Jul 2008 15:47 GMT4
We host a copy of work's web-site on a local server so that we get a
faster response than accessing it on the hosting company's servers. When
this was set up I used, IIRC, NetInfo Manager on Tiger to point to the
local server when that domain was selected. Leopard doesn't have ...
Machine running slow...10 Jul 2008 13:20 GMT24
