| iCard alternatives? | 12 Jul 2008 10:40 GMT | - |
As fate would have it, I find I need to send an iCard today. Which, of course, I can't. Have just been over to Hallmark and the designs just aren't really up to the same quality I don't think. Anyone got any good alternatives?

| Where can I get the MobileMe package from? | 12 Jul 2008 09:00 GMT | - |
I've tried the previously posted URL, it's no longer available from there. Software Update won't see it, and it's not in the Apple section on the "Mac OS X Software..." link from the Apple menu. The damned thing's vanished. Any idea where it can be found?

I know it's iPhone day so to mark it I thought I'd upgrade from Tiger to Leonard on my G4 MacMini. Took hours but seems to work for the most part. In MacSOUP though with Tiger I used to have my settings file in the dock

| Aliases in Applescript? | 11 Jul 2008 21:51 GMT | 5 |
I'm writing a script to do some bulk renaming of files and am hitting a strange 'stack overflow' error. In an attempt to isolate the problem, I've tried executing just the following script:

| MobileMe and Mail | 11 Jul 2008 20:54 GMT | 7 |
So I created a MobileMe account and can now finally access it from the web, and can access my iDisk and so on, but I've no idea what I'm supposed to do to Mail. It says on the MobileMe Mac Setup web page that Mail should get configured for MobileMe automatically, but

Can anyone suggest a cross-platform compression utility (command line is fine) that supports disk spanning and large files? I have 20GB of data that I need to burn to several DVDs and send to a windows user. IIRC the last time I needed to do somthing like this was

| Ordered a 16GB iPhone | 11 Jul 2008 20:31 GMT | 5 |
Was out at lunch to get cash. Dandered [1] into a Carphone Warehouse. "Have you any iPhone's left?", I asked, "Or are you all sold out?" We've got some 8GB ones here. but they are reserved for people. If you come back after 2 we'll have released any that haven't been collected yet ...

| Why is print dialogue so slow ? | 11 Jul 2008 19:03 GMT | 7 |
I have converted from PC to Mac about 6 months ago and use new iMacs at home and at work. One thing I notice that is so so so slow compared with PCs, is that when I go to print documents, the lag before the print dialogue box comes up

So, for those of you that have been browsing through the app store, what will you be downloading first? Any other thoughts about the store as a whole? Bejeweled, Things and OmniFocus all look good to me. I think the former
