It's nothing fancy, just a home directory on a Mac Mini running 10.5
M$ publisher horror25 Jun 2008 04:56 GMT5
Anne gets a slightly regular 'library newsletter' which she doesn't need
to read, thank gahd, as she no longer runs the organisation that issues
it. It's an email with an attached M$ Publisher document. I know it's
locked down as tightly as a fish's arse, so I'd need a PeeCee ...

I've been looking into buying an Internet radio device, so I don't need
to keep a Mac running.
The Squeezebox Duet <http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_duet.html> looks like

iChat wierdness24 Jun 2008 13:50 GMT10
I was sitting here earlier and iChat started on its own, with a message
from my wife.
I thought I had imagined it, so quite iChat.
Later she said 'Oh, you are online'. I said I wasn't and iChat was off.
dotmac public folder access problem24 Jun 2008 12:44 GMT-
My public folder on dotmac (requiring username/password authentication)
is inaccessible with Firefox 3.0 - it only returns a very empty page -
but I am sure it worked with previous versions of FF. Has anyone else
noticed this? No problems with Safari.

beeb.net webmail account confirmation - phishing?24 Jun 2008 12:03 GMT4
A relative of mine uses beeb.net email, and received an email from them
recently. It absolutely screams phishing, but it appears to be genuine
given that the website it points to is correct for the beeb webmail,
unless the forwarded mail he sent to me has lost the reference to a
