| Permissions and ACL | 28 Jun 2008 09:59 GMT | - |
I bought a new 3.06 GHz 24" iMac running OS 10.5.3. I decided to use Disk Utility to 'Repair Permissions' one night. NINE HOURS LATER it was still going! It had finished when I awoke next morning!! Next time, I tried to 'Verify Permissions' just to see what would

| 32GB iPhone | 27 Jun 2008 22:36 GMT | 6 |
How long after the initial 4GB / 8GB release did the 16GB iPhone turn up? 16GB is just that bit too tight for me to fully replace my iPod, whereas 32GB could see me going iPhone-only. How long do you think I might be waiting?

| Compatibility question OSX with classic | 27 Jun 2008 08:41 GMT | 8 |
I have a g4 400 that was upped to a 1.6 aftermarket. I need to boot in OS9 and somewhere along the line it stopped booting in 9 all together. So, what is the latest version of OSX that will allow me to boot in OS9? I can't use the program I need (cubase 5.1) in classic mode.

Today I used terminal to ssh to my employer and terminal told me I had mail on my MacBook. Mailx showed lots of local messages from utilities such as Carbon Copy Cloner. Why does the mail tool not show them and is there a way of showing them?

| Airport Networking | 26 Jun 2008 21:41 GMT | 4 |
I've now replaced my network for a complete Airport system, with my old Buffalo router being used just as a Broadband modem. I got one of the Extreme base stations, with 'n' wireless, but the 10/100 ports (not a problem as I only need that to print to a Laserjet,

| Microsoft Office XML Converter | 26 Jun 2008 20:24 GMT | 21 |
They've released the final version now for Office 2004, which is nice for when you get sent docx/xlsx/pptx files. Strangely it is a standalone converter app and not built in to Office, and even stranger it still converts docx to rtf despite converting xlsx to xls and pptx

| So what's all this bother about Primark paying Indian people 1p for a t-shirt? | 26 Jun 2008 08:22 GMT | 27 |
What's the big deal? At least these people now have jobs. They can hold their head up and high and be proud rather than be on the inidan dole. If they want to earn more they should make more t-shirts
