iPhone - still no MMS15 Jun 2008 23:34 GMT20
So, still no MMS even with the new iPhone. :-(
This is one thing that's still holding me back from buying one. Maybe.
What's the alternative to MMS? Emails? What happens if somebody sends you an
MMS?
Safari refuses ?15 Jun 2008 17:46 GMT-
An attempt to install the latest Safari version on my Mac Mini Intel
gets me --
"You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS
X 10.5.2 or newer."
MobileMe?15 Jun 2008 16:26 GMT13
What's the verdict here?
I can't say I'm a fan of the name, although me.com is a no brainer to
use if you need the web interface.
And if it looks and behaves the way it did in the keynote it's a step up
Slow to launch...15 Jun 2008 14:36 GMT10
I use a windows machine at work (core 2 duo, plenty of RAM), and ms
remote server from home on my iMac, and it strikes me that apps take
*much* longer to open and become responsive on the iMac (2.4 core 2 duo,
2Gb RAM). Entourage takes about 15s, Word about 10s. These are up and
Sleep issues15 Jun 2008 11:13 GMT2
My MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.11) seems to be developing sleep problems.
When I open the lid, sometimes the screen stays dark for up to five
minutes and perhaps longer (I give up). Other times if I don't enter
my password within a couple of seconds the screen goes black and stays
Scrolling bug in Mail.15 Jun 2008 08:34 GMT6
I've been annoyed by a little problem I've had with Mail.app for some
time now. If I wanted to hilight a block of text that was longer than
the screen, the normal drag-select wouldn't cause the page to scroll up.
I've just found out how to get around it. I have my Dock on the left
Network settings gone after Quicktime 7.5 update15 Jun 2008 08:28 GMT-
Odd one here - I've applied the Quicktime 7.5 update to the Mac Mini,
and its dropped off the network following the restart. This is
irritating, as the machine is used as a set-top box and non-Front Row
stuff is exclusively operated via VNC. Am going to have to dig out the
3G iPhone no more than 199 USD15 Jun 2008 08:22 GMT40
I have been unable to get a UK price as of yet...
Wonder if we can sue him for satying no more than 199 USD = 104.00
Sterling at 1.91 exchange rate methinks 199.99 for the lets rip off the
Brits price...
So, jailbreaking an iPod Touch...remind me?15 Jun 2008 02:36 GMT6
(a) how easy is it?
(b) can it be reversed easily?
(c) does it bugger up anything already installled? Music, video etc?
I'm tempted, I must admit.

OT, one for web/net gurus14 Jun 2008 21:32 GMT4
I own a domain name. I sort of have a web-site which is being hosted for me and is accessible with www.mydomainname.com, but dropping the www and just using mydomainname.com gives a 404.
Using traceroute, the IP at the end of the line for both versions is the same. What gives? ...
Another Q. regarding MB hard drives... an idea?14 Jun 2008 21:22 GMT12
Hang on a minute chaps, I have a great idea.....
Thinking about getting a larger hard drive for the MB (it's already down
to about 40% free), I came up with an idea. I need somewhere to put the
old drive, so I thought about bunging it into an external portable case,
What's the big deal over the 42-day law?14 Jun 2008 21:21 GMT15
I don't understand all this who-ha over this terror thing. Surely,
this is a case of taking on the terrorists. Anyone who opposes this
wants the terrorists to win.
And now David Davis has resigned. So what?
Really looking forward to...14 Jun 2008 20:41 GMT15
I'm currently diving through the iPhone HIGs and developer documentation
in preperation for July 11th. From what I've seen, it's going to be
really easy - especially when compared to the Palm platform, which I
gave up on very early - to develop little bespoke personal apps that do
