Camera advice sought27 May 2008 12:19 GMT48
I'm away on holiday in the near future. I don't want to take my Canon EOS350
with me, so I'm after advice on a 'shirt pocket'-style digital.
Must be Mac compatible, obviously. Price _is_ a factor - sub £100 would be
nice, but if we say sub-£150 that would cover it.
large 2.5" hard disks27 May 2008 09:25 GMT8
I was thinking of updating my macbook pro, as it is so full I am having
to lose things off it that I actually use.
Does anyone have an opinion on, or knowledge of the Toshiba MK3252GSX
320GB drive? It seems the right size (9.5mm).

French iPhone discount ?27 May 2008 07:55 GMT-
Apparent reports of Orange, France contacting iPhone owners to offer
them a discount on the new model. Lets hope O2 do the same thing, though
I doubt it very much.

NeoOffice - be honest now27 May 2008 06:31 GMT123
Yo possums
I've been using NeoOffice for a week or so, just to replace Word.  It
has been slightly annoying at times, but I've taken this to be because
I've been using Word for so many years that I've got used to it.

How to create BMP of text?26 May 2008 21:54 GMT3
Quick question,  I'm looking to get a couple of slogan t-shirts printed from
Cafepress but they require the images to be uploaded as a .bmp.
What's the easiest way of creating a .bmp of some text - nothing fancy, no
pictures or photos - just some text?
Anyone tried iLoveMyApps?26 May 2008 21:02 GMT-
Saw this on MacUpdate tonight and I was curious about the purpose of
the application.

The idea seems to be that you prepare a list of your favourite and then
Firefox 3 RC126 May 2008 19:23 GMT122
Firefox 3 is up to release candidate 1: I've been using it solidly for a
couple of days and it does apear to be quicker than older versions
(difficult to tell as bloomin' BT are the bottleneck round here).
No crashes or unexpected behaviour thus far, so all in all it's looking
failing to connect wirelessly on MBP26 May 2008 17:18 GMT5
Over the weekend I've had a few times where my MBP has failed to connect
to my home router. The error has been pretty non-specific and all I can
find in console.log is:

Comparing the contents of two discs?26 May 2008 14:57 GMT90
Go on, how do I do it?
I'm sure there must be some straightforward free/shareware software
around to `just give me a straightforward list of what's different on
each disc'.
Starting apps forcing themselves to foreground26 May 2008 14:33 GMT-
this is something that has always annoyed me...
For instance I click a PDF download link and agree to open it in Preview
after the download is complete. Turns out it's 10 MB or more so I decide
to write an email.
Not off topic, but pointless26 May 2008 11:44 GMT5
One old iLamp.
One internal HDD.
And four hooked up externally with two disc images mounted as well.
How long before it decides that's too much?
Am I missing something?26 May 2008 00:45 GMT5
I've been looking for a small form factor computer with (relatively) low
power consumption to use as a news/mail server and umm for "stuff". As
far as I can see the best bang per buck is actually a Mac Mini.
There are other small Core 2 computer around but they all seem hideously
