Scheduled faxing = confused Mac09 May 2008 01:20 GMT-
I've just told my 4G5 to send a fax at 9am (using the Apple USB external
modem, which has so far done faxing nicely).
When I checked the fax queue, I was told that my fax is due to be ssent
at 10:00AM (as it puts it).
A reminder why I prefer Macs08 May 2008 22:37 GMT34
Took delivery of a new Dell Uninspiron PC for the office yesterday.
10:00 today: broke the seals and started unpacking.
19:00 today: finally got it into a usable state. XP Pro updated as far as it
will go, Office 2007 installed and upgraded, Project and Visio installed,
Aperture 2.108 May 2008 22:00 GMT2
I have been running Aperture under 10.4.11 for a few weeks now, and just
happened to notice this claim on the Apple website.
Leveraging the next-generation RAW image processing in Mac OS X Leopard,
Aperture 2 delivers images of astounding quality, offering superb colour
Jet-engine noise on sleep?08 May 2008 21:35 GMT5
Last 4 or 5 sleeps on my iG5/1.6 have resulted in it powering up the fans
like a bloody jet engine before it finally sleeps. Last time this happened (2
years ago) it was the dreaded exploding capacitors (got the
midplane/motherboard replaced). Before I power this down for a ...

redirecting all mail to Googlemail08 May 2008 16:31 GMT8
I am trying to redirect all my email to my Googlemail account so I can
read it on my PC at work. I have set up a (simple) rule in Mail app
that says: if any of following conditions are met/every message/
redirect message to [my Googlemail address].
iCal keyboard operation08 May 2008 16:06 GMT7
Editing an event - Cmd-I or Cmd-E to edit.
Cmd-E is better, Cmd-I gives you an Edit or Done button, neither of
which respond to Enter or Return, so you either have to tab until you
reach them and hit space-bar, click on them, or do something else that I

Canon ip4500 - is it OK with Leopard  ?08 May 2008 14:42 GMT4
My neighbour's lad has a second problem.  His dad has a Canon ip4500
printer wired into either a windoze box or his Wi Fi router (he wasn't
sure) and his G4 iBook can't print to it.  He tells me he has downloaded
the latest driver from the Canon site but it doesn't appear on the
Spotlight indexing web pages08 May 2008 13:42 GMT-
In case anyone else has been frustrated by Spotlight finding hundreds of
web pages, despite being asked not to, the solution is to add
~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/History to your Privacy list in System
Prefs.  Hurray!
Mac Wavelets / Adobe Camera Raw08 May 2008 09:48 GMT6

Looking in Disk Inventory X, in ~/Library/Caches, there is a folder
called Adobe Camera Raw (app I don't use) and which contains 169 files
