isync and phones10 Mar 2008 10:29 GMT3
Does isync only sync from the address book to a phone and not in the
other direction?  I thought I could use it to back up contact
information on my wife's phone to her account on the imac.  I suppose
that makes some sense but it's not quite what I expected to happen based
So... shareware?10 Mar 2008 09:56 GMT19
So how will shareware (or commercial apps with a trial period) fit into
the new App Store?
I have a feeling.... they won't. So how will we know whether an app
suits before handing over the readies?
Aspen (iPhone simulator) issues10 Mar 2008 09:52 GMT1
My copy of the Aspen iPhone simulator has no settings available for
Contacts. The other settings (at least for the apps included on Aspen)
all function as on a real iPhone.
Is anyone else seeing this?
Cameras again....but the simple kind please10 Mar 2008 09:33 GMT13
I almost hesitate to ask in this bastion of the SLR, but...
I'm after a truly simple, small camera that preferably doesn't need a
dock for recharging - recharging over USB would be ideal in fact. 5
megapixels fine, anything else considered a bonus. And Mac happiness is

If I want to get a filename by having the user drag a file into a view,

Airport move10 Mar 2008 01:12 GMT5
I moved the Airport Extreme 3 feet to the left of its location, this caused
the eMac downstairs to start intermittently dropping the connection. Seems
location, location does matter.

Torrents10 Mar 2008 00:00 GMT19
Are there any download clients that will allow you to select and
download a single file from a multi file torrent ?
I've just spent 20 minutes on version tracker and am more confused now
than when I started...
Easily amused by Time Machine backups09 Mar 2008 21:42 GMT15
I've been playing around trying to get my newly-Leoparded Macs to run
TM backups against my NAS. No success, but I have discovered that all
the Macs on the network can find their TM backup disk (a USB jobby)
when it's plugged into any Leopard host that the backupers have the

Dead Mac - help!09 Mar 2008 21:00 GMT13
I think my Mac is dead - help!  It was frozen, so I held down the
power button to reboot.  Now when I try to start it up again I just
get a grey screen with a flashing folder with a question mark in it.
So I put in the install CD and held down C for the Disk Utility.  When

Instead of the acocunt and the Inbox he expects to see, it only seems to

Macbook Temps09 Mar 2008 18:17 GMT1
First of al I don't have any problems with my C2D 2.16 MBP, but I was
browsing http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
and it shows the best temperature range for Macbooks is 50 to 95 degrees F
According to istat (latest version) ALL my temps are above 95F, yet my
