G3 iBook Usefullness13 Mar 2008 08:16 GMT9
A (non-Mac-using up to now) friend has been given a G3 iBook (Marble?)
600, 12Gb, 128Mb with a CD drive.
She has passed it on to me to 'tinker with' for her. She wants to use it
for wireless browsing, and for iTunes syncing with her 2nd Gen Nano.

iBook G4 running really slowly13 Mar 2008 07:40 GMT35
OK, I'm new to this Mac business having had my head in PC's for years.
However my company MD has just taken delivery of a new Mac Air and has
kindly given me his old iBook G4, 512MB RAM 1.33MHz CPU 60GB HDD.
He also gave me a copy of Leopard which he purchased for it recently.

Holy accelerometers, Batman!12 Mar 2008 23:02 GMT20
I didn't realise that the iPhone accelerometers were this accurate;
there's an electronic version of that 'steel ball in a wooden maze" game
demonstrated here.

Any mousable equivalent to two-finger trackpad scrolling?12 Mar 2008 22:56 GMT6
I'm fed up with feeling limited by my mouse now I'm so used to using
two-finger scrolling in X and Y directions on the Macbook* trackpads.
Is there anything out there that will allow me to set a spare mouse
button to "press two fingers" and use the mouse movement to scroll the
Mail.app and multiple email addresses and names12 Mar 2008 20:34 GMT1
Does anyone know if it's possible to set up multiple email addresses
in Mail.app (on one account) with different names for each address?
I found the trick of separating multiple email addresses with a comma
when setting an account up, so that I get a list of addresses to
Virgin Media users beware12 Mar 2008 20:19 GMT30
Over in the OS/2 NGs, a regular has posted news he's received
from Virgin Media that they plan to sell their users' data to
a gang of advertisers.  The only way to save yourself is by a
nifty bit of opting-OUT.  Any VM users here, take note.

whenever I got Tiger: in the Finder, times (ie when you want info on a

All,

The Time Capsule thing works with Time Machine for backups right?  So
can you use the migration assistant to restore an account from a backup
