IE Alternative for Tiger/Leopard21 Feb 2008 06:23 GMT9
Family friend works in a school which uses an ePortal system that
appears to work on IE only. Nasty glitches when used in Firefox, and
plain odd operation when used in Safari - sometimes works, sometimes
doesn't.
Any good (free) OMR software for Mac21 Feb 2008 05:52 GMT5
I need to OMR about 6 sheets of music. I've currently spent about 5% of the
time looking for software than it would take me to manually input it into
Logic but there might be more in the future for other projects (personal
projects these, not fee-paying sadly).
Problems with 'Peak' - good service from Jigsaw21 Feb 2008 05:37 GMT2
I recently bought an Intel iMac from Jigsaw Systems, to use for
professional archival recording.  As discussed in another thread, I
found OSX difficult to use - but far more serious was the problem I had
with Peak, which would only record a loud hiss.
BBC on iTunes21 Feb 2008 00:14 GMT10
I think this happened yesterday, but it looks like a number of episodes
from a number of current and recent BBC shows are now on iTunes. At
last we're getting non-US "content" in our store^Wshop :-)
Cheers,
Broken links with the iTunes store.20 Feb 2008 23:57 GMT11
Anyone else getting a page full of broken link icons when visiting the
iTunes store for the fist time during the session? If I click on the
Home icon in iTunes to reload the page it manages to download some of
the images, but I need to go through that three or even four times to
G4 shutdown problem20 Feb 2008 22:18 GMT14
Trying to shut down my G4 MDD and it is just sitting there with the cogwheel
going round and round.  It's happened a couple of times before for no
apparent reason.  Any clues about what causes it and how to get out of it
without a brute force shutdown by disconnecting the power?

Unmount disk/image and Finder closes ...20 Feb 2008 18:36 GMT11
I get the feeling this is just me, but does anyone else experience this
habit of Finder closing when a disk/image is unmounted using the Finder
side bar icon? (Leopard 10.5.1 and .2, on an Intel iMac and a Mini)
Is it supposed to this?
Tonewheel Organ20 Feb 2008 18:03 GMT29
In my GarageBand installation (v 4.1.1 under Mac OS X 10.5.2) all of the
software instruments seem to work except those based on the Tonewheel
Organ generator.
If I set any other instrument to use that generator, it falls silent.

Is there a tool to convert WIndows Lotus Freelance Graphics files (.prz)
into something readable and editable on a Mac?

Firewall or Little Snitch20 Feb 2008 17:35 GMT10
If you have Little Snitch 2.01 running, do you need to have the Firewall as
well. Do they do the same job.
According to the AppleTV forum, the 10.5.1 firewall is causing sync problems
to ATV.

Bootcamp/Parallels activation issues...20 Feb 2008 16:09 GMT5
I've been using Parallels under 10.4 for a while, and decided last week
it'd be half useful to be able to run windows under both Parallels and
boot camp. So I've set about upgrading to 10.5, splitting the HD etc
etc.
