Parallels - boot from floppy?14 Feb 2008 21:40 GMT3
Just for a giggle (and I'm bored) I thought I'd start a new FreeBSD
install into a Parallels VM, via the boot-and-install-from-floppy method
(boots a basic floppy image or three, then installs over t'Internet)
Except you can't boot from a floppy. Or can you? Am I missing something?
Perian going bananas?14 Feb 2008 21:01 GMT6

copy of Perian is up to date"
Which is nice, but why alert me? The Perian folk aren't exiles from
Microsoft's User Experience team are they?
10.5.2 USB fixes?14 Feb 2008 20:06 GMT2
I have a powered USB hub to which my external keyboard and mouse were
attached. Prior to 10.5.2, I always had to connect it, then disconnect,
then reconnect in order to get these recognised. Have just connected it
for the first time since upgrading to 10.5.2 and it worked first ...
Getting hold of iMovie14 Feb 2008 18:10 GMT5
Hi. I'm confused. I have just bought a secondhand G4 iBook which came
with 10.3 installed and it also had iMovie on it. I wanted a clean
slate and installed 10.4 (from my own DVD) but was surprised to find
that iMovie hasn't been installed. I remember reading somewhere that

Well, as far as printing to my PC shared Canon ip4000 anyway ;-)
So, (for those interested in eeePC matters) I though I had a White 4G
model on order from Play but by the time they and processed the order
and done the credit check they were out of stock again.

Silly Software Update Question14 Feb 2008 15:08 GMT10
So this must be doable, and doable easily.  How, in Tigger and Panther,
do I schedule Software Update to run on the 12th of each month?

10.5.2: allows menu bar opacity (but that's *not* the default)14 Feb 2008 14:19 GMT39
Seems bizarre to me: why on earth would anyone *desire* a translucent
menu bar? Surely opaque should be the default.
