Beware the software updates!19 Jan 2008 22:10 GMT18
Installing the three Software Updates (Front Row, iTunes and QuickTime)
last night caused havoc on my G5.
After restarting, whenever I tried to log in it would bring up the Setup

MacSOUP/news.individual.net/ntl19 Jan 2008 22:10 GMT12
I don't know whether it's MacSOUP, or the Individual.net news server, or
the transport between them, or some combination of them all, but my news
access is painfully slow and has been for a while lately.
I get transfer rate of only a few hundred to a couple of thousand bytes
CD/DVD wallets - recommendations?19 Jan 2008 21:54 GMT1
I'm looking for a decent quality CD/DVD wallet capable of storing around 100
discs - ideally NOT a ring binder one, and preferably a '2 to a page' style.
I've rummaged around SVP and most of their cases get poor reviews - flimsy,
fall apart, ring binder, pages don't fit, etc etc.
Mac commuting - was it you?19 Jan 2008 21:52 GMT48
Spotted a guy using a MacBook Pro on the 19:06 from Paddington to
Henley yesterday. This might not be the world's most momentous event,
except for the fact that as I got off I noticed a bouncing Unison icon
in the dock, ie. this person is a Usenet user.

Fotopic problem19 Jan 2008 17:01 GMT6
Having joined the digital age, I've been experimenting with a fotopic site
and have come across an odd problem.  They reccomend using their java applet
for uploading files but I find that when I've uploaded some pictures the
applet refuses to quit so I have to force quit Safari and ...
New Time Capsule with existing wireless network - can it work?19 Jan 2008 16:42 GMT2
I like the look of the new Time Capsule that has been announced.
I currently use the BT Homehub so that is my broadband link.
So was wondering if they could co-exist.
I was thinking about getting the Apple box - connecting it to the BT

10 seconds and then iCal closes.
Any ideas?
