The Mac Os X Human Interface Guidelines were updated for Leopard last

Bluetooth keyboard not visible23 Jan 2008 14:03 GMT7
I changed the batteries in my bluetooth keyboard for my iG5 the other
day and since, even after rebooting, it is refusing to find the
keyboard, which is a bit of a bugger as it's the only keyboard I have
for it at the moment.

Upgrading an iPod mini to flash23 Jan 2008 13:21 GMT12
Having just successfully (and very easily) upgraded the dying battery in
Han's iPod mini, I'm thinking of upgrading the capacity from 4GB to 8 or
16GB. It's cheaper to use flash than a microdrive, but I'm a little wary
of using flash with its reduced number of reads/writes.

Apple Photo books23 Jan 2008 09:12 GMT5
Firstly, there's a discount of 20% on at present:

Secondly, how does one find the Higher Education discount on Apple's
iPhoto print products? I've just spent a useless 15 minutes on the phone
Microsoft now allows Vista Home to be virtualised23 Jan 2008 07:50 GMT3
Which is nice if you want a cheaper way to get Vista in a Parallels or
VMware VM on a Mac.

Excel for Mac 2008 & charting large datasets22 Jan 2008 22:31 GMT17
It arrived today - and I must admit I'm disappointed. I know I should
have expected as much, but everything has become more fussy and bloated.
Office 2004 now has a pleasing cleanliness to it compared to 08!

Print Problems22 Jan 2008 18:02 GMT16
I've been using a Brother DCP-340CW for some time - and very good it is
too - yesterday I came to print out a couple of pages and noticed that I
had a choice of three DCP-340 drivers to choose from...
So; I clicked on the re-set printers button and two of them vanished.
Xcode noob help22 Jan 2008 14:35 GMT8
I've decided that in the seven seconds free time I have each day, I'd like to
delve into developing some stuff using Xcode.  I haven't decided what, or even
what language, yet.  I've just had a brief dabble with Java and made the
obligatory Hello World. Woo!
Obama's middle name is 'Hussein'22 Jan 2008 13:13 GMT8
He might be a nice bloke, but his middle name is Hussein. (The same as
Sadam Hussain). I think this will remind people that he is from the
same part of the world as a cruel dictator.

1. She's really old.
She's 60. That means in ten years she'll be seventy!! You wouldn't let
a 70 year old fly a place - why let one rule the country?
2. She's a woman.
Gmail crud21 Jan 2008 22:43 GMT21
One of those small things that is hastening the heat death of the
universe...
Mails received from gmail accounts have hectares of crud where there
ought to be nothing except basic headers. This crud is not headers; if I

iPhone.iPod touch 1.1.3 Time Zone bug21 Jan 2008 20:18 GMT3
Here's a nice one. It looks like UK iPhones (and maybe iPod touch
set-up from a UK account) will adopt and stick resolutely the time zone
you happen to be in when you apply the update. So mine keeps reseting
back to Cupertino as I applied 1.1.3 when in California.
