it seems, no scrap that is a lot faster than tiggers spotlight, on this
very marginal powerbook (ie 867mhz) while it took hours and hours to
reindex, probably best part of 8hrs? it is now, what spotlight should be
ie fast, no more juddering as you type in a search.
Leopard has killed my Windows Vista partition on Macbook30 Oct 2007 22:10 GMT17
Great news, got my Leopard disk, put it in my Macbook, was advised
that my Mac partition would be deleted, read the instructions several
times, seemed to indicate that my Windows disk area would be OK, just
update the drivers which are on the DVD.
Doesn't look like I'll be installing Leonard any time soon...30 Oct 2007 22:09 GMT3
Because every time I boot from the disc, it kernel panics.
Below is a copy of the KP log, in case someone with more understanding
of these things than I have (not difficult!) might be able to tell me
what's causing the problem. What doesn't it like? My system more than

Au revoir, Dashboard30 Oct 2007 21:57 GMT22
Had it sitting there for about a year, being a pain.  Got Dashboard
Quickstart, which just delayed the computer coming back online each
time, but somehow I'd got used to that.  O only used it for quick
currency conversion, when I remembered it was there.

Boot Camp problem30 Oct 2007 21:34 GMT-
I've got a MacBook now running Leopard. It had the Booty Camp beta and

Sound from internal speaker only under Leonard30 Oct 2007 19:00 GMT-
Under Tigger my Revolution 7.1 card worked fine, but I know it's not
(yet, say M-Audio!) supported under Leonard. I have a set of Logitech
Z5500 5.1 speakers, which worked fine under Tigger with both the
Revolution and the internal sound.
Speed30 Oct 2007 17:24 GMT5
I moved away from the Dark World two years ago and after six months of
purgatory with different Linux distros, I discovered OS X when I bought
my first mac, an original Mac mini.
I, immediately, fell in love with Tiger. It's everything Windoze has
Flash Player30 Oct 2007 17:00 GMT7
I wanted to view a Makro leaflet interactively (which I have done before I
thought) only to get a pop up telling me I had to download Flash Player.
After installation I went back to the Makro site but it still tells me that
I need to download the Flash Player I have uninstalled and ...
