Audio upgrade suggestions31 Oct 2007 23:44 GMT39
Until now I have been very happy with the 44.1 Kc/s, 16-bit audio on a
beige G3.  For non-demanding work I use the on-board A/D conveter and
for the highest quality I use the converter in a Sony Prodat recorder
and transfer the results by S/PDIF through a Pro-Tools PCI card..
Time machine behaviour.31 Oct 2007 23:29 GMT2
I have an iMac and a Macbook. Both running Leopard.
I connected my external drive to my iMac and Time Machine seems to work
reliably.
I disconnected the drive and connected it to my Macbook, which also seemed
Time Machine question31 Oct 2007 22:07 GMT3
I'm just wondering if Time Machine's restore facility can restore the
back up taken from one Mac to another Mac? Say, for example, a laptop
gets lost - can it's Time Machine back up be used to restore the
laptop's contents to another Mac.
Router question31 Oct 2007 21:08 GMT1
Will any ADSL modem router also work as a router when connected to a
cable modem, presumably via one of the ethernet ports? If not are there
some that do or which also have a cable modem ethernet input?
thx

One good thing at least about 10.5's Finder31 Oct 2007 17:21 GMT29
From <http://www.macworld.com/2007/10/firstlooks/leodraft/index.php?pf=1>
"Unix AutoFS
Why give up such a high draft pick for this seemingly obscure technology
related to networked volumes? Because AutoFS in OS X 10.5 is, quite simply,
Backup: Time Machine - No; ChronoSync - Yes31 Oct 2007 14:41 GMT8
So, not trusting Time Machine anymore I've decided to use ChronoSync to
backup my Home directory to the external drive that should have been
for TM. I've used ChronoSync for years, but just to sync a laptop with
a desktop.
Front Row hacks31 Oct 2007 13:34 GMT-
If Front Row is now the same Front Row as on Apple TV, does that mean it
will be as hackable? Anyone seen any hacks yet?
I'd be interested in jiggling the menu structure a bit, and getting it
to look somewhere other than the Movies folder by default, but simply

So what's the verdict on the grammar checker in Leopard? I like the way
it used Tool Tips to present suggestions in Cocoa apps.

Windows OEM version31 Oct 2007 13:29 GMT64
I notice one can buy an OEM version of Windows XP from places like Amazon for

Is it possible (and legal) to use this OEM version to instal Windows on a Mac
with Boot Camp, or does one have to use the full consumer version for about 3
