Virgin BB doing OK so far....29 Sep 2007 20:05 GMT39
My first phase of reducing comms costs has started, and Virgin took over
my broadband this morning. No complaints so far, the free modem (which
is USB only, so won't be used) arrived last week (within 48 hours of
ordering), along with the freeview box. Broadband went active this

Leopard to be slower than Tiger29 Sep 2007 16:21 GMT19
According to Apple Insider, Leopard won't be available for 800MHz G4
Macs, because it runs too slowly.  Now if it's slower on 800 MHz G4s,
presumably it will be slower on faster Macs too, just not so slow that
they'l disallow it.
The end of ITMS...29 Sep 2007 16:21 GMT55
So, that's it then. Apple have shot themselves in the head again.

Quicken alternative wanted.29 Sep 2007 14:14 GMT5
My finances are in a right state. I've no idea where I stand with any of
my income and outgoing. I used to be organised, back when I used Quicken
on Windows 98. But then Linux dragged me a way from Windows and my money
awareness hasn't been the same since.
Upgarding iMac II - removing my identitiy29 Sep 2007 13:51 GMT7
I posted a week or so concerning upgrading my iMac to the new version.
Well, it sold at the asking price within 2 days, so that's that.
The thing is, the buyer wants the computer 'configured' - he liked the
way i had it set up, with all the little utilities and things.
OSX screen corruption black lines29 Sep 2007 12:54 GMT3
My brother's iMac has thin black lines across the screen. It looks
like a software issue, as the lines are per-window and scroll with the
window's contents. Sometimes Firefox gets chunks of its display
jumbled up.  The logon screen has large blocks of random pixels on it,
Entourage29 Sep 2007 11:40 GMT9
Where please is the best place to go for Entourage support? I cannot find a
forum. I have a load of junk mail that I have deleted but I cannot remove it
from my junk folder - I've tried purge.
Thanks
Lubricating a keyboard29 Sep 2007 11:34 GMT8
My Bluetooth keyboard is irritatingly sticky. What do you use on the key
mechanisms to keep them free? Dry teflon/silicone-type spray? Silicone
grease?

iTunes Wifi store28 Sep 2007 23:23 GMT-
Bought the new Jose Gonzalez album from the WiFi store via the iPod
touch tonight. It just worked. Clicked buy now, got prompted for my
iTMS password and it started downloading. Was able to listen to the
first downloaded track whilst the others were queued. Also got told the

Is there going to be a ucsm group visit to MacExpo this year? Is it going to
be on the Friday? Where are we going to eat after? Who's coördinating it?
