Buying a used G4 laptop - advice needed please22 Aug 2007 11:28 GMT18
An elderly relative, who has used Windows in the past, would like a
laptop and a wireless broadband connection. I suggested she buys a used
Mac of some kind because I believe security would be better (Firefox or
Safari rather than Internet Explorer) and the Mac applications she'll

Microsoft Messenger Problem22 Aug 2007 10:20 GMT4
Been using Messenger for ages but recently it's started crashing when I

I've tried removing the app and reinstalling to no avail.  Are there
Keyboard settings for Virtual PC22 Aug 2007 10:08 GMT-
This may be more of a Windoze question, but I'm sure some kind person
here will know the answer. How do I get a Macally keyboard to work
properly (and in particular to give me quote marks when I hit the quote
marks key, rather than the @ key) when running Win 2000 inside Virtual
Overheating Macbook - best way to get sorted?22 Aug 2007 10:02 GMT3
I've noticed some odd issues on my MB recently.  After a bit of use
(usually on my lap, so not on a desk with a gap underneath for
cooling) it'll start closing apps, and more tellingly showing corrupt
video - the dock will corrupt, and characters will start vanishing
external disks - NTFS?22 Aug 2007 09:50 GMT10
...now the missus has her huge external drive coming for video editing
on her Thinkpad, I was wondering what the state of play for OS X
writing to NTFS partitions was?*  It'd be handy to be able to do this,
but not if the tool enabling it was a bit experimental and liable to

the Apple forums/discussions it is so painfully slow and has been for
several weeks.

Numbers question21 Aug 2007 22:30 GMT1
3. Why?
Ok, seriously - in Numbers (in a chart) is it possible to rotate the
text for the x-axis labels to be vertical if the graph is a 3D Line
graph? It appears that you can't but I find that a little hard to
How to bog down your Mac in five easy steps21 Aug 2007 21:27 GMT5

Mini Aluminium keyboard review...21 Aug 2007 20:21 GMT8
I went into the local Mac shop today fully with the intention of buying
one of the new Aluminium keyboards. Currently I use a iMac tray-load era
USB keyboard.
To cut a long story short, they are proper nasty to my fingers. I was
New Mac21 Aug 2007 18:59 GMT28
Hey guys,
I am using a 2 -3 year old iMac. I was wondering if now is the right
time to buy a new mac, or just wait for Leopard.
Are there any latest softwares out there that make it compelling to
Revisiting Safari21 Aug 2007 18:26 GMT-
Just revisiting Safari for the first time in ages after using Camino
exclusively. Two things are really making me think of switching back
1) the new find on page feature which is a god send and 2) inquisitorx
(not sure if it has always been free but it is now).
Default action for blank CD21 Aug 2007 18:14 GMT4
On a new Intel Powermac, when a CD is inserted it seems that Disk

I am called.  I quit DU and re-insert the disk.  It appears in Finder
