MBP - Weird electric shock from case?27 Aug 2007 19:41 GMT11
Was in Greece last week and using the MBP with a three to two pin
adapter when I noticed I was getting a very mild buzz type shock when I
touched any part of the top case surrounding the keyboard.  Removing
the mains power or insulating myself (i.e. sitting on wodden chair and
Pages Course Certificate Template27 Aug 2007 19:32 GMT2
Does anyone know of a good template to use as a certificate to award at
the end of a training course. I'm going to modify the original flyer
for the course but when I went looking around for a template today the
iWork site I usually use didn't have anything.
Mail.app and Exchange - again27 Aug 2007 18:00 GMT7
I posted about this a couple of months ago, and smugly thought I'd found
a solution to the problem of Mail trying to synchronise with several GBs
of Public Folders on an Exchange server.
I did find a way of stopping the stuff actually getting downloaded (just
Nokia Multimedia Transfer27 Aug 2007 17:53 GMT6
Don't know if this has been mentioned here (a quick Google suggests
not). Nokia have a beta app to transfer music and photos from a Mac to
their phone, called Nokia Multimedia Transfer, at:

Bejeweled Deluxe now a Universal Binary27 Aug 2007 17:23 GMT12
I'm quite surprised - I'd given up hope of this happening. Still,
versiontracker dutifully reported the upgrade and the only change noted
was that this was now a universal binary.
The game isn't exactly performance-sensitive anyway, but the the nice
Web feedback form nastiness27 Aug 2007 14:15 GMT3
I made a mistake just now. After composing a very clever, witty, erudite
and much researched feedback letter in a web form, I clicked on the
subject to edit it, and hit backspace. Unfortunately the subject wasn't
editable, and backspace in FireFox means "go back to previous webpage" ...
MBP wake-up issues27 Aug 2007 10:19 GMT2
I've had my MBP a couple of months now and I love it! But waking it up
sometimes takes an age, as long as five minutes sometimes :(
I've set it up to require a password to unlock the screen, which pops
pretty snappily, but then it just sits there beachballing. The HD or CPU
Internet radios27 Aug 2007 09:36 GMT7
I see that a whole market has sprung up while I wasn't paying attention:
Internet radio devices complete with speakers and wireless, which are
perhaps the first genuine Internet appliances for domestic use, and
retailing for £50-£200.
CDRW support in OS927 Aug 2007 01:55 GMT1
I've just reinstalled OS 9.2.2 on my beige G3. This OS supports CDR
burning as a Finder Extension; some digging through the Extensions
folder reveals a set of CD-RW drivers, one per drive manufacturer.
The Drive Burner utility reports that Lite-ON 16x 52x 32x 52x combi
I miss my SE/3026 Aug 2007 21:46 GMT21
OSX, permissions, how-thin-is-your-keyboard, iPhone, Aqua this, graphite
that. You know, all the basic business functions I do could probably
still be done on an SE/30. I loved that old thing. It was my little
beige friend and we went everywhere together.
Macspotting(ish)26 Aug 2007 21:40 GMT23
It's not a new report, I suspect but CBA to Google, that the use of Macs
in "Escape to the country" has been commented on before. But I noticed
during a very idle moment today that they hav e taken to sticking a
large logo for the programme over the Apple logo on the MBP they use to

    €    Module Size: 2GB
    €    Package: 184-pin DIMM
    €    Feature: DDR PC2700
Please help achieve a BAN on Primate testing in Europe25 Aug 2007 18:57 GMT2
To: All European Citizens who care about Animals
This is a critical time. The European Commission (EC) is currently
revising the law - known as Directive 86/609 - that governs animal
