setup RAID and how to manage volumes14 Aug 2007 16:45 GMT1
I have got myself a LaCie USB2/FW disc/hub and have split it into three
volumes with the intention of using part one as a RAID1 bit, part 2 for
experimentation with other operating systems perhaps and part 3 intended
for (my term so forgive any error) a bootable image of OS X. ...

optibay - now for macbook14 Aug 2007 13:08 GMT6
I'd seen this before, but only for the MBP.
It's a bay that swaps your optical drive for a 2nd hard disk in an
internal caddy - they now appear to fit Macbook and PB G4, which is
news to me:
G3 iMac - spec confirmation?14 Aug 2007 11:33 GMT9
Someone is selling a Graphite 600Mhz G3 iMac on eBay with 64Mb RAM, CD-ROM,
and a...3.2Gb HD. Now, I understand there was a 'budget' version of the last
series of iMac G3, and if we ignore the 3.2Gb HD (I can't find the HD size of
this model listed anywhere), all's well.

Testing new iPhoto and .Mac Web Gallery14 Aug 2007 08:11 GMT13
Subject says it all really. It really is single click publishing of
photo albums and event pictures to the web. The skimming etc. just
works (in Omniweb anyway) on the gallery thumbnails. Impressed. See URL
below if you want to play with a gallery. An album showing some
iLife 08, iWork 08, OS X Leopard14 Aug 2007 00:14 GMT3
Hey guys,
I bought my iMac in October last year, it was the 17" model, the core
2 duo one, gig of ram etc. Being new to the world of apple so far I am
a little worried about these new apps and the new OS. I'm from a PC
iMovie '08 - has the timeline view completely gone?13 Aug 2007 23:10 GMT8
Right - back off holiday and back onto my normal broadband, so I'm
catching up with what's been going on. I'm currently watching the
guided tour of iLife '08 and I'm on to the new iMovie presentation.
Looks good, if somewhat screenspace-greedy, but I'm concerned that the
iLife'08 early adopters - is iPhoto any less crunchy?13 Aug 2007 21:33 GMT-
I've got around 8000 photos in iPhoto'06 and it bogs down like a boggy
downy thing, taking several seconds to open/close a pic and making a
mess of my multitasking too. 800meg real memory used.
Is iPhoto'08 any less crunchy?
Web page to pdf? (no Giant Geese)13 Aug 2007 18:10 GMT1
Hello chums
Before anyone says, yes I know that you can configure print settings
to output to a pdf file, but does anybody know of a free utility for
converting web pages to pdf?
Questions about .mplayer on Intel Macs13 Aug 2007 16:52 GMT-
I ve been using the .mplayer binary with its partner .mcoder to

different flavours (form ISO LATIN to Traditional Chinese) for my dvds

Amazing.
I haven't been there, and I'm not going there, but if what we catch
glimpses of over here is representative of Mac owners in general, I
can't imagine a more conceited bunch of toe rags. I can't imagine someone
File syncing?13 Aug 2007 09:32 GMT2
A friend of mine wants to synchronize files between three computers
and an external drive. I suggested using PsyncX (which is what I use
for backups) but looking at what he wants to do, I don't think it
could be useful.
