FAT32 external16 Aug 2007 20:08 GMT7
I need to be able to share files between this G5 Quad and various
Windows machines running XP in another location.
At the moment I've got an external 320GB FireWire & USB drive which I've
formatted FAT32. Is this sensible? The files are mainly large video
Changing file icons from Word to Pages16 Aug 2007 19:21 GMT-
I've selected a .doc file (created with Microsoft Word) and, in Get
Info, told it to open all documents like this with Pages. Rather than
all the file icons changing to the Pages one, some have now turned to
the blank page (unknown file type?) icon, and the others have remained
Safari password quirk..16 Aug 2007 10:41 GMT-
I (as noted somewhere in another thread) recently tried Safari 3 Beta again.
The latest update still didn't work so I went back to Safari 2. It seems that
since then (I *think*) Safari isn't asking me if I want to save passwords
when I enter 'em on various sites, as it did before ...

Something weird's happening to my Macbook...16 Aug 2007 09:36 GMT1
...and I'd appreciate some advice.
Over the last week or so I've noticed that it's beachballed (requiring
a hard power off/power on to clear) a few times, and I've also noticed
two odd desktop graphics corruption issues: initially the window
AppleWorks16 Aug 2007 02:00 GMT17
As far as I can see Apple has dropped AppleWorks completely - presumably
intending it to be replaced by iWorks. If so it's a pity since AW included a
database application and iW doesn't, as far as I know.
My sister is looking for something which she can use to catalogue her book

Just been looking at the £10 a month/2Mb/unlimited downloads offer. Could

courtesy of the previous owner), as I only use it for internet access. Looks
pretty good. Anyone know what there newsgroup access is ...

When I try and drag my digital camara photo folders (containing 4
years worth of pics) to my external (USB) hard drive I keep getting
errors.
It keeps coming up with a variety of errors - mainly (it seems) to do

Deleting fonts other than with fontbook15 Aug 2007 17:18 GMT6
I have a corrupt font, it causes FontBook to crash whenever I select it.
How can I delete this font / remove it from FontBook if I can't use
FontBook?
Thank you for any help you can give with this.

Just looking at the Virginmedia forum on www.thinkbroadband.co.uk, and saw a
