Looks like many models of the G4 desktop are heading for the

Just off to a pals in an hour or so to try & fix his iLamp. Problem: He's got
OS 9 loaded, but for some reason can't boot into OS X. He wants to reinstall,
but has a dead CD drive. Will the iLamp be able to start up in FTDM?
I assume (if so), we connect my iBook (G4) & the iLamp ...

Enlighten me - what is the point of a .dmg.zip file, when a dmg can be
created as a compressed image anyway? Is there a benefit to be gained?
I've noticed an amount of software distributed that way but I would
have thought that just using the a compressed image would be the way to ...

Dorothy Bradbury for advice on replacing the main cpu fan in my G4 MDD
1.25.
They could supply such a fan, with one caveat - there could be only one.

Not having much fun this morning. First off when I came in, the CCC
backup had stopped at about 7Gb of 75Gb. No sign of why, just stopped,
although it looked like it was still working. The only way to stop CCC
is Force Quit, since it has no apparent "Stop Backup" command/button.

I've just noticed an oddity when holding down the Control Key while
using the scroll wheel on the mouse - the whole screen images gets
larger (the resolution apparently drops). Using the mouse then moves the
whole screen image as opposed to just the cursor. It is possible to
