(I have one of those plug in power usage meters), and have been trying
to test my G5 setup under various conditions - mainly: Power on 24/7,
Allow to sleep when idle, and shutdown when not in use.

I am trying to help a mates mate who has a PowerBook G4 17" with 1G ram and
is running OSX (10.4.?).
When you turn it on it just comes up with the grey Apply logo screen and the
spinning circle thing and after a few mins of that just shuts down.
