I've decided, after more than half my life using a keyboard, that I
ought to learn to type properly (I just use two fingers and two thumbs).
A google search predictably pulls up a thousand and one hits. Should I
just pick at random or are there specific things I should look out for?

I'm about to start archiving lots of old family photos and I'm not sure
of the best way to do it. They are all prints which will have to be
scanned and most are about 6 inch max dimension.
I plan to sort them into slideshows via iDVD and also on the same disc

Our Daughter has need to do one basic flow diagram for her school DT
GCSE project and I wondered if there was a 'good' (as in ease of use
mainly) flow diagram package available for the Mac (OSX) please?

I'm sure that some of you have seen those 'popups' that aren't really
windows but appear over your webpage and use graphics to look like they
are windows. Without fail they look like Windows windows, so it's easy
to spot on a Mac.

I am tempted to move my work email to mail.app but ideally i would like
it to only check during certain hours of the day ? is that possible yet
having my personal account checking whenever ?

Looks like a cross between Mail.app and MacSOUP. Might be interesting to keep
an eye on this.

specifically on waking from sleep.
With a Windows network, live shares are always available in explorer
when you boot up a pc. You don't have to Go-Connect to Server every
time.

So this is a strange one.  
I think it's to do with pico (nanolite, if you like) rather than the terminal, in 10.4.
Trying to type an umlaut - alt-u then a letter - zips the cursor and the umlauted letter down to the bottom of the page.  What's going on?
Line wrap is also borked.  ...

I have a blue & white Mac that is giving me grief.
I need to install a system on it but when I boot from the 9.1 CD I get
a "Desktop cannot be created" message with an OK button. When I click
the button the Mac reboots. I have done the PRAM.
