Sky Broadband...reporting back04 Apr 2007 19:39 GMT-
Someone was wondering about this the other week.  Well, I switched away
from Pipex on monday.  My exchange was LLUed last friday from what I can
tell, so I must be one of the first LLU connections.
I had received the Sky Netgear 5 days previously.  I observed my DSL

Can anyone recommend an external dvd recorder for my 1ghz powerbook?
What features should I be looking for and at what prices?
Any recommendations for an online seller would be welcome too.

Moinx - local wiki software04 Apr 2007 18:42 GMT-
A big thumbs up from me for my latest find - moinx. I've recently found
myself wanting to do some offline wiki editing for a work project,
which of course is rather awkward. Reason it has to be offline is that
I'll be editing this on the train, and although I can connect in with
Safari 1.3 OS X 3.9 and Google Maps Update04 Apr 2007 17:15 GMT8

Personal apology from Steve Jobs!04 Apr 2007 16:07 GMT24
Yeah, right.
However, after a couple of volleys of telephone tennis, I have spoken to
someone rather high up in Apple UK/Ireland (I'm sure I actually recognise
them from last time around...) who is obviously taking personal care of

Hi all..
I'm trying to upgrade a trya loading G3 iMac. At the moment it

ROM but when I try to install it it tells me I don't have the correct
'broken' jpegs from Entourage on Mac04 Apr 2007 13:14 GMT14
I've just been sent a bunch of photos, from Entourage on a Mac. The
small previews are visible in my email, but trying to open the 2.6 Mb
JPEG attachment in either Preview or GraphicConverter fails. GC says the
file is broken or the format is unknown.
I had a dream....04 Apr 2007 12:32 GMT3
last night, where I was in some kind of supergirly Apple Store, and they
had the usual range of machines but there was an 15" MBP C2D that had
everything a 15" C2D MBP has except a superdrive, and it was £800.  The
catch was....the whole inside surface was in a kind of pink marble
ZFS - definite activity for OS X?04 Apr 2007 12:07 GMT24
In <http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6531759>
"zfs_rmdir() can return EEXIST on an empty directory when spotlight is
messing with it"
I reckon this definitely confirms activity on porting the ZFS file system to

Lacking in RDF.04 Apr 2007 11:10 GMT2
Anyone given the announcement from EMI a listen?
http://w3.cantos.com/07/pjxrobbi-703-5zvx0/interviews.php?task=view#
Jobs isn't up to his usual RDF-emitting levels. I wonder if this is
because the EMI announcement was at short notice, so he had less time to
Up in smoke!04 Apr 2007 10:58 GMT8
Well, you don't hear that too often, thankfully. I got a call from
mother yesterday, she was sitting at the Mac and could smell burning.
Went around to check, and came back to fins smoke billowing out of the
monitor.
Photo slideshows04 Apr 2007 09:49 GMT26
Dear All
Two questions:
Can iPhoto (or if not what?) burn a slideshow to a CD/DVD playable on a
Macintosh or Wintel machine?
