I synchronise my user space on my iMac and iBook, but not the user Library folders. Is there likely to be anything in there which would cause serious issues if it were messed about with in this fashion?

Just come off the phone from my wife - her MacBook's drive has now died. Suspiciously similar symptoms, straight after a warm day and she came in to find the fans going wild and a kernel panic on the screen. Bah.

If I needed a 2.5" SATA drive quick for a MacBook, would Regent Street sell one for not -too- much of a price hike over, say, morecomputers.co.uk? 80gig/100gig is what I'd be looking at, no need for the 160gig drives here.

My friend's Graphite iMac has finally been upgraded because it was switching off at random. I got someone to take out the HD, and I sucked the user account from the drive to put his files and stuff onto a new 20" iMac (very nice!).
