I said "No, just a watch."

Handy Hint27 Mar 2007 10:26 GMT2
If you're trying out a service like last.fm and you can't work out why
the third party client isn't working properly, instead of spending 45
minutes googling, downloading the official client to 'check the
connection', writing a post to ucsm and waving a rubber chicken about,

Carbon Copy Cloner 3 versus Tiger on Intel26 Mar 2007 22:49 GMT17
I cloned a Tiger (Intel) install onto an external disk using the beta of
Carbon Copy Cloner 3, then cloned it back to identical-spec hardware. I
immediately got regular kernel panics.
I couldn't be arsed to investigate so just did an archive and install.

Frikkin iMovie.
Just spent an hour importing all the video from my father-in-law's
camera into iMovie. A third of it Christmas, a third a trip to the Tate
Modern, the London Eye and Aquarium, and a third my daughter's ballet.
Itunes and Divx Video26 Mar 2007 22:30 GMT3
Is there a way to play and list avi files(divx) on iTunes?
I have the videos playing on Ouicktime thanks to Perian, but it would be
nice if I could catalogue these video files with iTunes along with the
rest of my iTunes compliant mov files.
FYI: USB - Ethernet adapter26 Mar 2007 22:17 GMT3
Dear All
The story so far: A client broke the two eensy-weensy latches on his 15"
PowerBook ethernet port (it means that the cable won't stay in). Apple wanted
£1200 plus for a new motherboard to fix the ethernet port.
Um, how do I play videos in iTunes?26 Mar 2007 21:25 GMT13
I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I've somehow lost the
ability to play video in iTunes - how should I do it?
I can play it in the little postage-stamp pane at the bottom left (if I
click the 'upwards pointing triangle in a square' button) but I can't

Buying Software from the US26 Mar 2007 19:04 GMT7
Amazon.co.uk & .com leaked the prices of the Adobe CS3 bundles this morning.
Amazon.co.uk appears to have now pulled those pages but the master
collection was something like £2199 compared to $2399 for US folk.
Is this a total joke or what? especially for software that can be ...

iMovie broke from v2 to HD26 Mar 2007 17:45 GMT6
I had a film in iMovie 2 format, which has lain dormant for quite a
while. I have just converted it to iMovie HD format, and had a handful
of problems.
The entire project came out in the wrong aspect ration, but I fixed that
New Mac26 Mar 2007 17:04 GMT13
Some time ago I posted a question here that queried the flaws of the

Anyway, I think the answers I recieved where correct and swayed my
mind.
