Before I waste a lot of time downloading ISOs and trying this out
myself, has anyone managed to successfully install and run an x86-64
Linux on their Intel Mac, either using Parallels or Boot Camp ?

Well I took the plunge and against all reason, people looking on and
warning me not to, replaced my faulty fan macbook fan. It's now in and
is a damn site more quiet then the one I took out and is quiet when
compared to the remaining original fan which is a little worrying. It

My daughter shut her ibook down this morning before catching the train
home. On arrival it wouldn't start; dead, nothing at all, no sign of life.
The battery appears fully charged and I've tried it with the charger but
still nothing. I've got it disconnected with the battery out ...

I'm just having a look through the Character Palette for some - is there
a rule about which fonts will include these?
They are classified as "DINGBAT NEGATIVE CIRCLED DIGIT <digit>", which
is a nice mouthful.

G5 iMac OS10.4 when running Classic apps there is no sound. I cannot
open the sound control panel, I get told that control panel is not
supported under classic. I cannot boot this machine into OS9. So any
ideas how I can get sound?

One thing puzzles me about LCD monitors. 2560 x 1600 is stated to be the
