Zoom window shortcut?10 Mar 2007 21:56 GMT5
Is there a keyboard shortcut for the Zoom (green fruit gum) window
button? I couldn't find one in Help or with a quick web search. If not,
can I 'create' one somehow?
The reason I ask (after having used a Mac for a couple of years) is that
MacBook Pro on its travels10 Mar 2007 21:24 GMT5
I'm off to the States for a short while at the end of next month, and
will be looking to use the laptop there. I've looked at the Apple Store
online and found the world traveller kit. I've also found the £30 price
tag next to it, which seems...excessive.
Help, Roger! (OT)10 Mar 2007 21:21 GMT12
Hi...wondered if Roger's knowledge of postcodes and the like would help
me out here.  I'm looking at a potential new house, but it's being sold
by a company who did some kind of part-exchange with the previous owners
who did all the work to it and actually lived there.  A couple of ...
Buying a mac and a few questions10 Mar 2007 20:42 GMT12
I am intending to buy an i-Mac as soon as leopard comes out. It will be
the forst time for me and I have looked into compatibility issues, and
see that it will be no problem for me. Just one question I cant find the
answer to though.
No Audio in Final Cut Express HD10 Mar 2007 19:14 GMT6
Hey folks, this is my first time using Final Cut. I'm very familiar
with other video editing programs, and the FCE interface isn't that
different than what I'm used to. I just captured in a video but there
is no sound playback at all. My volume is all the way up (other sounds
Window placement10 Mar 2007 17:33 GMT2
Is there a utility anywhere that remembers the window placement of
apps? I'd like things to remember where I put them and open there next
time. I know it's no biggy moving a window, but it'd be nice if I didn't
have to do this. (lazy bugger, I know).

How to great a green translucent box with text (Photoshop/Fireworks)10 Mar 2007 15:12 GMT2
Sorry, this is a tad off topic here.
How does one create a rectangle & then make it translucent (about 50%
opaque) so the photo underneath is still visible?
I would like to do this is in Fireworks [Adobe 8].

Calm before the storm?10 Mar 2007 14:05 GMT7
There seems to be a black hole when it comes to mac news lately, Apples
product line-up seems rather stale, especially where the mini and Mac Pro
are concerned. Secondly no word from Apple re. Leopard since WDDC back in
Augst 2006, well over 6 months ago.
Stumbled into an excellent Timeline implementation10 Mar 2007 10:58 GMT2
I seem to remember there was a discussion about timelines on the web. I
just picked-up a very nice looking Javascript/CSS/Ajax solution from:
http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/
Just thought it would be nice to drop a note here.
Loading a terminal with arguments10 Mar 2007 09:35 GMT4
I'd appreciate some advice on Terminal. I frequently have to set up
three or four terminal windows with different settings (just so I
don't get them confused). For instance, for Rails development I have a
window running lighttpd, and I set that up to have green text on a
