Spotlight Annoyance21 Mar 2007 01:07 GMT-
I was searching for a text document tonight using Spotlight and was
surprised to see it briefly appear at the top of the list as I typed
each letter of the filename then disappear to be replaced by another

The Tech | 21 one on the Apple store looks suitable although it's just
on the edge of the current allowed hand luggage size. Anyone got ...

- any recommended (freeware if possible) alternatives out there?

Gadget Show, Chanel 520 Mar 2007 19:00 GMT38
Just recently got Channel 5 (which I can only say in the Fast Show
Chanel 9 voice, hence subject line), and saw in the listing that they
were comparing a Sony Vaio and a black MacBook.
God almighty the Gadget Show is pile of poo. Sure, they came up with a

Linotype-Hell scanner problem20 Mar 2007 16:58 GMT23
I have been given a rather nice scanner with "Linotype-Hell Jade 2" on

AppleTV Available?20 Mar 2007 15:41 GMT2
The apple shop now says delivery is '3 days' rather than 'mid March'.
Does that mean it's available to buy now?
It looks like they made it on the last day you could reasonably
consider to be 'mid march' :).

If I take an original beige Mac G3 266MHz running OS 9.2.2 (because OS

Naive newbie Q - what happens to the trash?20 Mar 2007 15:04 GMT86
I seem to be filling up my MBP quite quickly. Further investigation is
showing that a lot of space is occupied by the contents of my trash can.

deleted? Is there any way I can by-pass the trash if I delete ...

I have just spent three days trying to get Live Messenger working on
Emily's PC (she insisted on having one, so she got it). The groups are
