I was searching for a text document tonight using Spotlight and was surprised to see it briefly appear at the top of the list as I typed each letter of the filename then disappear to be replaced by another file.

I need a roller type laptop case that is also an overnight bag that has enough room for a change of clothes. It has to take a 17inch Mac Book. The Tech | 21 one on the Apple store looks suitable although it's just on the edge of the current allowed hand luggage size. Anyone got ...

| Gadget Show, Chanel 5 | 20 Mar 2007 19:00 GMT | 38 |
Just recently got Channel 5 (which I can only say in the Fast Show Chanel 9 voice, hence subject line), and saw in the listing that they were comparing a Sony Vaio and a black MacBook. God almighty the Gadget Show is pile of poo. Sure, they came up with a

| Linotype-Hell scanner problem | 20 Mar 2007 16:58 GMT | 23 |
I have been given a rather nice scanner with "Linotype-Hell Jade 2" on the case and "LinoHell Office2 - v2.6" as the SCSI identification. I'm pretty sure I saw these being sold for Macs when OS 8.6 was current, so I would have expected to find OS 8.6 drivers available for download;

| AppleTV Available? | 20 Mar 2007 15:41 GMT | 2 |
The apple shop now says delivery is '3 days' rather than 'mid March'. Does that mean it's available to buy now? It looks like they made it on the last day you could reasonably consider to be 'mid march' :).

If I take an original beige Mac G3 266MHz running OS 9.2.2 (because OS X 10.1.5 is too slow on that machine) and replace the IDE CD-ROM drive with a DVD-ROM drive, what additional (preferably free) software would I need to get it to play DVDs?

| Naive newbie Q - what happens to the trash? | 20 Mar 2007 15:04 GMT | 86 |
I seem to be filling up my MBP quite quickly. Further investigation is showing that a lot of space is occupied by the contents of my trash can. As I run out of room does the oldest stuff in there get automatically deleted? Is there any way I can by-pass the trash if I delete ...
