| MacMini Heat Question - might be a dumb question | 23 Mar 2007 18:22 GMT | 4 |

| PCI or PCIx? | 23 Mar 2007 17:38 GMT | 5 |
I've been asked by a potential buyer if my G5 Dual 2.0 is the model with PCI or PCIx slots. I think it is the former since when I bought it I fitted a PCI 3 port firewire card at least I think it was a pci. But how can you tell for sure? And how can you demonstrate it using

| G4 Mini Problem | 23 Mar 2007 16:38 GMT | 6 |
On startup a G4 Mini has been chiming normally and gets as far as a blank grey screen then stops. On connecting up an external firewire hard drive and rebooting it started normally off the internal drive. Also, for a while prior to the grey screen incident, the pointer has

| Power problem on MacBook Pro | 23 Mar 2007 12:27 GMT | 3 |
I've noticed my MacBook Pro starting to put itself to sleep, no warning, when the battery hits around 27-30%. It's immediately able to wake again, but quite often when I do the battery reads 0%. However the machine will happily keep running for quite a while - the battery

| 10.3.9 server - home directories on flash drives? | 23 Mar 2007 10:36 GMT | 4 |
Currently I have users' home directories on the server. Works well in that people can hot-desk and get their own desktop wherever they sit. But performance isn't stellar - I guess because each and every cache access etc is going up and down the network. Plus there are disc ...
