MacBook keyboard doesn't work on resume25 Feb 2007 21:19 GMT3
This is a problem I have which happens most of the time I resume my
MacBook from hibernation - the keyboard fails to work.  I can't type
anything, none of the shortcuts (like Opt-Cmd-Esc or F10) respond, and
relaunching the Finder doesn't help.
iPhone25 Feb 2007 19:51 GMT1
This is an interesting video, picks up on extra things not mentioned
directly  in the iPhone keynote. One for all you potential iPhone
buyer's out there.

Which old(er) PowerBook?25 Feb 2007 19:41 GMT8
Just having an idle wander around eBay... Knowing nothing about PowerBooks,
was wondering if any in particular were preferable to others? Aluminium vs
Titanium etc? Trying to decide on a cheap(ish) replacement for my struggling
1st Gen iceBook.

Can anyone direct me to a way to do this?
I often use the [Application]->Services->TextEdit->New Window
Containing Selection menus to capture useful snippets of information
that I then save as rtfd files. This works really well BTW with
Mini dies in its sleep25 Feb 2007 19:13 GMT1
My G4 Mini has been showing a tendency not to wake up after sleep. At
least, you get the screen up but either there's no cursor or there is
one and it moves, but everything else is frozen, including the clock.
Attempts to ping from an iBook on the LAN just gives "Host is down".
NAS round-up: Buffalo vs QNAP vs DLink vs WD MyBook25 Feb 2007 19:10 GMT16
Anyone used one of these? I'm deciding on my 'buy a big gige NAS'
strategy today, and I'm confused as hell. I'm tempted by the QNAP
because it has RAID, but I'd like to know how well it behaves with OS X
(specifically, I'm interested to know if it has the long filename
Pauses - OS 8.625 Feb 2007 15:47 GMT4
OS 8.6 on a beige G3:
My system has started pausing for anything up to about 8 seconds.
It happens when I try to open a folder or launch an application.
The system memory is taking up over 40 Mb, which seems a bit higher than

I am absolutely positive that this has been asked before, but despite
looking back a fair way I cannot find it on the NG...
Can Windows XP Pro be installed on a Mac via Parallels with an OEM CD.
(Other than being OEM, it is a full product CD, not an upgrade one, and

USB Mac cam update ..24 Feb 2007 15:25 GMT16
So, inspired by the fact that I might not have to spend £100 on a
radioactive iSight by the recent reports of vfm Mac compatible USB
cams being rumored I thought I'd give one a go.
I picked up a couple of these (as per Andy H's feedback)  from Argos
