Dear All
For the record:
The Apple Mac mini 1.25GHz G4 512MBytes, 40GByte, CD-RW/DVD does not support
use of either the HP LP2065 nor the Samsung 204B 20" displays.

Belkin Ethernet adaptor01 Feb 2007 20:17 GMT12
I bought a Belkin Ethernet Wireless adaptor in the sale at John Lewis,
hoping that it would be a cheaper way of connecting an old imac to a
wireless network, than buying an airport express card + adaptor.
It works straight out of the box, but only on an unsecured network. To
Disk Utility, Install Question01 Feb 2007 15:24 GMT2
I bought a brand new 120GB drive for my mac book, first of all I hooked it
up as an external and it showed in in DU just as a disk with no volume. If I
erased the disk it would create a volume called 'Untitled', so I did this.
Now I put the new disk into the Macbook and put in the ...
Macbook hard drive failed - how do I reinstall OSX01 Feb 2007 13:19 GMT3
I have only had my Macbook for 3 months and the hard drive failed last
weekend. Luckily I had everything backed up - I did several backup
routines using the Apple programme including backing up the whole
machine and just my documents etc. I did this to two seperate external
Free MS AU plug-in01 Feb 2007 11:04 GMT4
I've been looking for a cheap MS matrix plug-in to work in Soundtrack
Pro which only uses AU plug-ins.
Discovered this freeware:

PC World no longer selling the floppy disk drive01 Feb 2007 11:00 GMT22
<http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6314251.stm>, with the
inevitable nod to the original iMac.
I still have plenty, but only for the vintage machines. I still need
the odd 5 1/4" for the C64 and double-density for the Roland D20. If

MacBook Pro failing to boot properly01 Feb 2007 08:43 GMT6
I must admit I find the new (well, copy of the US ones) ads on the
Apple UK website a bit galling, particularly the one about Macs not
having to restart.
Mine doesn't hang, it just never gets that far.  One way or another,
'Security Update' - blatant troll post.01 Feb 2007 07:08 GMT4
Dude, I admire your trolling, I really do.
But seriously, this is a Mac group. What are you talking about -
Security problems? on a mac? Dude, so something believable.
(There are ZERO viruses on OS X, it is the safest OS out there).
The Annual 'Best scanner' query?01 Feb 2007 06:53 GMT29
This one hasnt come up for a while, so here goes:
I need a flat bed scanner. With the ability to scan slides/negs on
occasion (these will be medium format slides, as there is no way I can
justify the cost of a medium format film scanner).
MS@Today01 Feb 2007 06:08 GMT26
I had to grit my teeth listening to the blatant puff for Microsoft
Vista on the Today programme this morning: the flagship 8:10 slot, if
you please. Almost no challenge to the claims about how Vista is going
to Change The World apart from a minor kite flown about viruses. And

Interesting screensaver:

Not tried it yet, but it looks like a nice idea.

Video from WWDC 200601 Feb 2007 02:24 GMT1
Apple released the video from WWDC 2006's "Mac OS X State of the Union"
talk on iTunes today.
So for those of us too cheap to go to WWDC (raises hand) this is a nice
free glimpse at what's coming in Leotard, and old Bertrand with the
