| Bill Gates: A born politician | 04 Feb 2007 23:13 GMT | 2 |
Regarding Vista, "I caught up with Bill (Gates)... and asked him, don't we already have all this on the Mac?" This is how he spun it: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP0_uN42P44>

| Brent Cross today | 04 Feb 2007 21:53 GMT | 1 |
Yet again Apple's Genuis online reservation system said there were no available spots today, despite me trying to reserve a spot at 0:05am (-at- that time, not -for-...). That's the third week running, so into Brent Cross I went. Got the

My lad is complaining that the games (nothing too heavy though) he is playing on my G4/733 Dig Audio in 10.4.8, are running slowly for his liking. Just wonder whether upgrading the graphics card will help or whether I would be better replacing the whole caboodle with a mini from ...

I'm starting to rip my DVD's to have them available on disk on the Mac mini in my living room. I ripped The Incredibles using HandBrake to a H.264 MPEG with AAC audio. It seemed to me that there was a small lip sync issue on Playback. This was ripped on a Mac Pro and playback was ...

I've been mucking about with video compression, and am a bit confused. If I compress a test file using Compressor, it plays back with lots of unsightly 'combing' when there's fast sideways movement in the clip. If I import the file into Final Cut Pro, and export using QuickTime

The one consolation for uk.comp.sys.mac's Scottish contingent today is that their rugby went down to plans carefully made and tracked on what looked to be an MacBook Pro 15". The camera kept panning to the England coaching staff, and there was the laptop prominently displayed ...
