Old Apple IIc and boxes - rare?05 Feb 2007 13:56 GMT2
We were clearing out the loft at work, and found an Apple IIc in the
corner. It has a crack in the corner. It also has a monitor, disk
drive and the original boxes. Also a box for an Imagewriter, but I
can't see the Imagewriter. Is this worth anything or rare? I have
Can ping external addresses but can't browse/email05 Feb 2007 13:16 GMT3
I read with interest the following thread entitled "Ping external

Unable to print to Epson Photo R80005 Feb 2007 13:05 GMT-
I'm trying to print to my Epson Photo R800, but all I can get to print
are test pages.
Epson Print Utility sees the printer, and will clean the heads &

Mac Mini RAM upgrade05 Feb 2007 12:51 GMT43
A friend, at present using my old beige G3/266, is minded to get a Mac
Mini; it would fit nicely on her desk, where space is tight, and perform
hugely better. She just does word processing, email and some web
browsing. She needs to be able to handle uncomplicated Word files, for
Best podcast reader?05 Feb 2007 12:51 GMT43
I really should know this, but don't.  For all those podcasts that
iTunes don't stock, what's the best app for collecting them?
Juice?  I couldn't work out if NetNewsWire does or not.  Or am I being
dumb - can you collect them in iTunes?
MPEG2 woes05 Feb 2007 12:40 GMT-
I did some videos on Windows, and compressed them to MPEG2 using
Mainconcept's encoder. Unfortunately, they don't play on the Mac at
all.
If I try to recompress the originals on the Mac using FfmpegX, it

The Apple Store in Brent Cross is a joke05 Feb 2007 02:51 GMT5
It's tiny
So I went there today
Granted, it I knew it wouldn't be quite as big as the Regent Street
store, I was disappointed with the tiny shoe box store they have in
'On my Mac' Trash & Junk folders05 Feb 2007 02:30 GMT3
I cannot figure out exactly what's going on with these folder. I have 3 POP3
accounts, each of them is removing messages from the server as soon as they
are downloaded.
Under Sent & Draft Messages I can see there's 3 sub folders. This makes

Vista05 Feb 2007 01:40 GMT-
due to the recent launch of Vista this newsgroup is being inundated with
posts slagging Bill Gates, Vista, and Microsoft. We hope you will be
patient while we recify the situation. Appleista envy should subside
with time.
